Orthorexia Nervosa vs Healthy Orthorexia:Preliminary Results of the Italian Validation of the Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS)
2022
Terapia cognitivo-conductual para los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria según la visión transdiagnóstica = Cognitive behavioral therapy for eatin…
2011
Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) is presently among the most effective psychological treatments of eating disorders (ED). The theory and CBT of Bulimia Nervosa developed by Fairburn shows positive, but still limited, outcomes. In order to enhance its effectiveness and extend the model (and treatment) to embrace all ED, Fairburn proposed the transdiagnostic theory and the CBT derived from it. This article aims to present a theoretical introduction to the topic and to describe the various forms of treatment according to the transdiagnostic view. The different stages of the CBT and their main components are presented in detail according to the 20-session focused version.
Analysis of the Effectiveness of Cognitive Remediation and Emotional Skills Training in a Group format. Preliminary results in patients with eating d…
2019
Eating disorders (ED) are associated with cognitive and emotional impairments. Cognitive and Emotional Remediation Skill Training (CREST) was developed as an intervention program targeting patients' thinking styles and their skills in recognizing and managing emotions. AIM: to analyze the effects of the CREST intervention in a group format in females with ED. METHOD: eight females underwent a CREST program (eight 90-minute sessions) targeting cognitive (central coherence, set shifting, problem solving) and emotional (recognizing emotions, managing emotions) difficulties. It was assessed cognitive flexibility (Wisconsin Card Sorting Test), decision-making (Iowa Gambling Task), central cohere…

Automatic detection of thermal anomalies in induction motors
2021
The paper proposes a methodology based on Artificial Intelligence techniques for the automatic detection of abnormal thermal distributions in electric motors, to rapidly identify pre-faults or fault conditions. The proposed approach, applied to induction motors of different sizes, installed in waterworks plants, is based on the execution of Thermographic Non-Destructive Tests, which allow identifying abnormal operating conditions without interrupting the ordinary working conditions of the system. Thermographic images of induction motors are acquired at the installation site and with perspectives visible to the operator, which are sometimes partially obstructed. These thermographic images ar…
Analytical RF Pulse Heating Analysis for High Gradient Accelerating Structures
2021
The main aim of this work is to present a simple method, based on analytical expressions, for obtaining the temperature increase due to the Joule effect inside the metallic walls of an RF accelerating component. This technique relies on solving the 1-D heat-transfer equation for a thick wall, considering that the heat sources inside the wall are the ohmic losses produced by the RF electromagnetic fields penetrating the metal with finite electrical conductivity. Furthermore, it is discussed how the theoretical expressions of this method can be applied to obtain an approximation to the temperature increase in realistic 3-D RF accelerating structures, taking as an example the cavity of an RF e…
2,3-Dihydro-3-methyl-2-nitrimino-1,3-thiazole
2000
The title compound ¿alternatively, 3-methyl-2-[oxido(oxo)hydrazono]-2,3-dihydro-1,3-thiazole¿, C(4)H(5)N(3)O(2)S, was obtained by methylation of N-(2-thiazolyl)nitramine. The molecule lies on a mirror plane and the thiazole ring is planar, regular in shape and aromatic. The S atom participates in the aromatic sextet via an electron pair on the 3p(z) orbital. In the crystal, the molecules are arranged in parallel layers, bound to each other by weak C-H.O and C-H.N hydrogen bonds and by S.O dipolar interactions, with an interlayer separation of 3.23 A.
Brief remote intervention to manage food cravings and emotions during the Covid-19 pandemic: a pilot study
2022
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic people have endured potentially stressful challenges which have influenced behaviors such as eating. This pilot study examined the effectiveness of two brief interventions aimed to help individuals deal with food cravings and associated emotional experiences. Participants were 165 individuals residing in United Kingdom, Finland, Philippines, Spain, Italy, Brazil, North America, South Korea, and China. The study was implemented remotely, thus without any contact with researchers, and involved two groups. Group one participants were requested to use daily diaries for seven consecutive days to assess the frequency of experience of their food cravings, frequ…
Development and validation of a scale to measure caregiver skills in eating disorders
2014
Objective:- The aim of this study was to develop and validate a new questionnaire designed to measure caregiver skills that, in line with the interpersonal component of the cognitive interpersonal maintenance model (Schmidt and Treasure, J Br J Clin Psychol, 45, 343–366, 2006), may be helpful in the support of people with anorexia nervosa (AN). A further aim is to assess whether this scale is sensitive to change following skills-based caregiver interventions. Method:- The Caregiver Skills (CASK) scale was developed by a group of clinicians and caregivers. Preliminary versions of the scale devised for both caregivers and parents were given at baseline and at follow-up after two studies of ca…
