Eating and feeding disorders in pediatric age
2018
Eating and feeding disorders are common in pediatric age and may be important to discover and recover the early symptoms in order to optimize the treatment and management.
2013
In a context of high rate of obesity, understanding early formation of child eating behaviour, in qualitative and quantitative terms, is crucial. This work shows that new vegetable acceptance is positively associated with the introduction of variety since the beginning of the complementary feeding, and would be more difficult in 2 year old children. Moreover, the liking of a new food (vegetable or beverage) increases after familiarisation by repeated exposure. A transitional association between the new food and calories induces more stable liking than repeated exposure. However, a high energy density could limit intake of the new food by learned satiation. This result supports an ability of…
2016
Understanding physiological and physicochemical influences on in-mouth aroma release from yogurts using mechanistic modelling
2008
International audience; On the basis of a first mechanistic model predicting aroma release in the oropharynx during food consumption, the aim of the present work was to improve its accuracy and to use it to identify the main mechanisms responsible for in-mouth aroma release. Comparison between predicted release kinetics and the ones measured by APCI-MS in the nasal cavity of subjects eating flavoured yogurt highlighted the reasonably accurate time predictions of the relative aroma concentration in the nasal cavity and the model ability to simulate successive swallowing events as well as partial velopharyngeal closure. Parameters identified as the most influent for in-vivo aroma release were…
The impact of two-dimensional perfectionism on burnout and eating disorders in young Finnish athletes : comparison between males and females
2014
Matilda Sorkkila, 2014. The impact of two-dimensional perfectionism on burnout and eating disorders in young Finnish athletes: comparison between males and females. Master’s Thesis in Sport and Exercise Psychology. Department of Sport Sciences. University of Jyväskylä. 40 p. Even though it has been argued that perfectionistic strivings might be adaptive and perfectionistic concerns might be maladaptive in sports, only few studies have viewed these dimensions in relation to athletes’ mental health. Two mental health problems that have been found in elevated amounts in young elite athletes are burnout and eating disorders. It has been proposed that perfectionism might impact the development o…
Quality of attachment, family relationships and socio-cultural influences in adolescents affected by eating disorders: a pilot research

Binge eating and obesity
2018
Despite there being several pathways leading to obesity [1], there is evidence that binge eating may be an important contributor to its development [2]. Excessive food consumption without compensation increases the risk for the development of obesity, which in turn is associated with numerous complications [3]. Obesity has been found to develop several years after the onset of binge eating, and individuals who were overweight prior to the onset of binge eating tend to gain even more weight during adulthood [4]. Binge eating is defined as eating a larger amount of food than normal during a short period of time (within any 2‐hour period) and, during this time, experiencing a loss of control o…
High-Temperature Short-Time Inactivation of Peroxidase by Direct Heating with a Five-Channel Computer-Controlled Thermoresistometer
1997
The thermal inactivation kinetics of horseradish and asparagus peroxidase in high-temperature short-time conditions was studied by heating in a five-channel computer-controlled thermoresistometer. Horseradish peroxidase was heated between 111.5 and 145°C and the reaction was analyzed assuming that two isoenzymes with EaL = 44.1 and Eas = 22.0 kcal/mol were present. Asparagus peroxidase heated from 110 to l20°C reacted with first-order kinetics, with Ea = 20 kcal/mol. The five-channel computer-controlled thermoresistometer enabled us to study the inactivation kinetics of the more labile fraction of horseradish peroxidase at temperatures above 100°C; this equipment was suitable for studying t…
One-step synthesis of resorcarene dimers composed of two tetra-benzoxazine units
1998
Abstract The condensation of resorcarene 1 with ethylenediamine and an excess of formaldehyde gives, under high dilution conditions, in up to 15% yield the octa-benzoxazine dimer 2 in which two molecules of 1 are connected by four bridges. The structure of 2 has been confirmed by 1 H NMR spectra and MALDI-TOF mass spectra and by hydrolysis of the oxazine rings yielding the secondary amine 3 .
Feasibility analysis of biomass pellets production and utilization in the countryside as a substitute for natural gas
2018
Do wyznaczonych celów niezbędna powierzch…
