Fumonisin B1 (FB1) and beauvericin (BEA) are secondary metabolites of filamentous fungi, which under appropriate temperature and humidity conditions may develop on various foods and feeds. To date few studies have been performed to evaluate the toxicological and endocrine disrupting effects of FB1 and BEA. In the brain, PSA modulates distances between cells and controls the plasticity of the nervous system. In the hypothalamus, PSA is involved in many aspects of energy balance including food intake, osmoregulation, circadian rhythm, and sleep. Fatty acid composition of french butters, with special emphasis on conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) isomers

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLA) are fatty acids primarily found in dairy products. These fatty acids may have potential biological properties interesting for human health. Update of French food composition data banks was needed to determine CLA levels in French dairy products and to evaluate CLA intake by the French population. As part of this investigation, we analyzed 54 butters from local producers at different times of the year. The average CLA levels in butter were 0.45 g CLA/100 g butter in winter, 0.58 in spring, and 0.80 in summer. Professionalization as Status Adaptation: The Nobility, the Bureaucracy, and the Modernization of the Legal Profession in Finland

In contrast to Anglo-American lines of professional development, the central agent of professionalization in many Continental countries was the state bureaucracy. However, this article proposes that an understanding of the class structure of traditional society is also needed to explain the privileged position of lawyers. An historical study of lawyers in the 19th century, after Finland was annexed by Russia, demonstrates that the legal profession provided the nobility an important medium of adaptation to the new society.
