Tracing battery usage for second life market with a blockchain-based framework

This work describes the design of a platform based on a permissioned blockchain for sharing relevant information among the actors involved in grid service provision programs. The information collected by a proprietary monitoring on-board system accessing the central unit of the Electric Vehicle, EV, is then sent to a dropbox folder owned by the car owner and then written on a blockchain platform. The platform could be supplied from similar data from the grid operator collected on the grid during the provision of services. Control subsystem design for wireless power transfer

Recently, the wireless power transfer has been increasingly employed. Particularly for the electric vehicles, the wireless solution is attractive for contactless battery charging, based on the Inductive Power Transfer (IPT). In this paper, a 150W prototype for IPT-based battery charging is presented and design criteria are reported. In addition to the power stage analysis, a proper control strategy is proposed. Simulation and experimental results are shown. The proposed control method aims at regulating the load current against variations in the magnetic coupling, so that the required amount of power can be supplied despite of unexpected decreases in the coupling efficiency.

Experimental test on a Contactless Power Transfer system

Contactless Power Transfer (CPT) is an ever-growing technology in automotive market, due to the significant improvement brought by it to battery charging operation in terms of safety and comfort. CPT is based on inductive coupling between two coils, so that power cords can be avoided for vehicles battery charging and an important contribution towards a smarter mobility can arise. In this paper, a CPT prototype for E-bike is proposed. Magnetic design and power electronics system are described. Experimental results deriving from laboratory tests are presented and power efficiency of the system is addressed.

The objective of this study was to prepare NS-chitosan microparticles for the delivery of 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) to the colon. Microparticles can spread out over a large area of colon allowing a more effective local efficacy of 5-ASA. N-Succinyl-chitosan was chosen as carrier system because of its excellent pharmaceutical properties in colon drug targeting such as poor solubility in acid environment, biocompatibility, mucoadhesive properties, and low toxicity. Molecular Dynamics Simulations of the Initial Adsorption Stages of Fibrinogen on Mica and Graphite Surfaces.

Fibrinogen, a blood glycoprotein of vertebrates, plays an essential role in blood clotting by polymerizing into fibrin when activated. Upon adsorption on material surfaces, it also contributes to determine their biocompatibility and has been implicated in the onset of thrombosis and inflammation at medical implants. Here we present the first fully atomistic simulations of the initial stages of the adsorption process of fibrinogen on mica and graphite surfaces. The simulations reveal a weak adsorption on mica that allows frequent desorption and reorientation events. Influence of Surface Charge and Polymer Coating on Internalization and Biodistribution of Polyethylene Glycol-Modified Iron Oxide Nanoparticles

International audience; The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the surface charge and coating of Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles (SPIONs) on their in vitro and in vivo behaviors. Neutral and negatively-charged PEG-based SPIONs were synthesized and compared to Resovist (R), a carboxydextran-based SPION currently used in clinics. Their cytotoxicity, cell internalization, and potential as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging were assessed. Neutral pegylated SPIONs were internalized less readily by the reticuloendothelial system and showed a lower uptake by the liver, compared to negatively-charged SPIONs (with carboxydextran and PEG).
