From particular polynomials to rational solutions to the PII equation

The Painlevé equations were derived by Painlevé and Gambier in the years 1895 − 1910. Given a rational function R in w, w ′ and analytic in z, they searched what were the second order ordinary differential equations of the form w ′′ = R(z, w, w ′) with the properties that the singularities other than poles of any solution or this equation depend on the equation only and not of the constants of integration. Multi-parameters rational solutions to the mKdV equation

N-order solutions to the modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation are given in terms of a quotient of two wronskians of order N depending on 2N real parameters. When one of these parameters goes to 0, we succeed to get for each positive integer N , rational solutions as a quotient of polynomials in x and t depending on 2N real parameters. We construct explicit expressions of these rational solutions for orders N = 1 until N = 6.
Solutions to the Gardner equation with multiparameters and the rational case

We construct solutions to the Gardner equation in terms of trigonometric and hyperbolic functions, depending on several real parameters. Using a passage to the limit when one of these parameters goes to 0, we get, for each positive integer N , rational solutions as a quotient of polynomials in x and t depending on 2N parameters. We construct explicit expressions of these rational solutions for orders N = 1 until N = 3. We easily deduce solutions to the mKdV equation in terms of wronskians as well as rational solutions depending on 2N real parameters.
On the existence of at least a solution for functional integral equations via measure of noncompactness

In this article, we use fixed-point methods and measure of noncompactness theory to focus on the problem of establishing the existence of at least a solution for the following functional integral equation ¶ \[u(t)=g(t,u(t))+\int_{0}^{t}G(t,s,u(s))\,ds,\quad t\in{[0,+\infty[},\] in the space of all bounded and continuous real functions on $\mathbb{R}_{+}$ , under suitable assumptions on $g$ and $G$ . Also, we establish an extension of Darbo’s fixed-point theorem and discuss some consequences.
A dual process model to predict adolescents’ screen time and physical activity

OBJECTIVE: Many adolescents report a lack of physical activity (PA) and excess screen time (ST). Psychological theories aiming to understand these behaviours typically focus on predictors of only one behaviour. Yet, behaviour enactment is often a choice between options. This study sought to examine predictors of PA and ST in a single model. Variables were drawn from dual process models, which portray behaviour as the outcome of deliberative and automatic processes. We investigate existence, uniqueness and regularity for local solutions of rough parabolic equations with subcritical noise of the form $du_t- L_tu_tdt= N(u_t)dt + \sum_{i = 1}^dF_i(u_t)d\mathbf X^i_t$ where $(L_t)_{t\in[0,T]}$ is a time-dependent family of unbounded operators acting on some scale of Banach spaces, while $\mathbf X\equiv(X,\mathbb X)$ is a two-step (non-necessarily geometric) rough path of H\"older regularity $\gamma >1/3.$ Besides dealing with non-autonomous evolution equations, our results also allow for unbounded operations in the noise term (up to some critical loss of regularity depending on that of the rough path $\mathbf X$). Projecte d'investigació-acció: Violència escolar i integració social

En aquest treball es presenta el Projecte d'Investigació-Acció realitzat pel grup Lisis de la Universitat de València. Des del model ecològic, l'interès està a analitzar i prevenir la conducta violenta entre iguals a l'escola. Per a això s'ha aplicat en una mostra de 1319 adolescents d'edats compreses entre els 11 i els 16 anys una bateria d'instruments. En aquest article s'exposa, a tall d'exemple, un dels models d'equacions estructurals calculats en aquesta investigació. En concret s'analitza l'efecte directe i l'indirecte del clima familiar en la conducta violenta entre iguals i en el context escolar.
