Organotin(IV) complexes with tetraethyl ethylene- and propylene-diphosphonates

1995

The series of organotin halide complexes with tetraethyl ethylene- and propylene-diphosphonates R n SnX 4-n .L [n=0, X=Cl; n=1, R=Me, X=Cl, Br; n=1, R=Ph, X=Cl; n=2 R=Me, Et, Bu, X=Cl, Br; n=2, R=Ph, X=Cl; L=(EtO) 2 P(O)CH 2 CHR'P(O)(OEt) 2 , R'=H, Me] were synthesized and characterized by means of NMR and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The crystal structure of the complex of diphenyltin dichloride with propylenediphosphonate was determined. The complex consists of polymer chains with bridging bidentate ligands and an octahedral tin environment containing two types of phosphoryl fragments. All of the R 2 SnX 2 adducts have trans-R 2 SnX 4 geometries of tin coordination octahedra according to the q…

Cyanido‐Bearing Cobalt(II/III) Metalloligands – Synthesis, Crystal Structure, and Magnetic Properties

2014

New examples of cyanido-bearing cobalt(III/II) complexes have been obtained by treatment of CoCl2·6H2O with bidentate nitrogen donors and potassium cyanide in a methanol/water mixture. Depending on the chelating ligand, the cobalt(III) complexes PPh4[Co(en)(CN)4] (1, en = ethylenediamine), PPh4[Co(ampy)(CN)4]·1.5H2O [2, ampy = 2-(aminomethyl)pyridine], and PPh4[Co(phen)(CN)4]·CH3OH·0.25H2O (3, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) and the cobalt(II) complex PPh4[Co(dmphen)(CN)3]·3H2O (4, dmphen = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) were obtained. The complexes were characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and variable-temperature magnetic measurements. They are all mononuclear species with six…

Synthesis, spectroscopic, and X-ray structural study of aqua-bis(thymine-N 1 ,N 4 )-ethylenediamine copper(II)dihydrate [Cu(Thy) 2 (en)(H 2 O)].2H 2 O

2016

International audience; A new compound of thyminato anions and ethylenediamine with five-coordinate Cu(II) is synthesized. Elemental analysis and spectroscopic techniques (IR, UV-visible) were used to characterize this compound and its crystal structure was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure consists of the neutral mononuclear complex [Cu(Thy)(2)(en)(H2O)]center dot 2H(2)O. The environment around Cu(II) ion exhibits a square pyramidal geometry with two nitrogen atoms of ethylenediamine and two other nitrogen atoms of the monodentate monoanions of thymine building the equatorial plane. The oxygen atom from H2O molecule occupies the apical position. The comp…

New Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes of benzolamide with diethylenetriamine: synthesis, spectroscopy and X-ray structures

2000

Abstract New benzolamide (H2bz, 5-phenylsulfonamide-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide) zinc(II) and copper(II) complexes with diethylenetriamine were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structures of the [M(Hbz)2(dien)] (M=Cu(II), Zn(II); dien=diethylenetriamine) complexes were determined. The metal centre adopts a near regular square pyramidal geometry. The benzolamidate anion acts as a monodentate ligand through the thiadiazole N atom contiguous to the deprotonated sulfonamido group. Spectroscopic properties are in good agreement with the crystal structures. The EPR and electronic spectroscopic studies showed that the copper(II) species doped into the zinc(II) complex adopts a near s…

Binuclear Nickel(II) Complexes Based on Bridging Oxalate and Pseudohalides as Peripheral Ligands: Synthesis, Crystal Structure, DFT Calculations and …

2000

Nickel(II) molecular complexes were obtained by water displacement reactions of [{Ni(dien)(H2O)}2(μ-ox)]Cl2 and the corresponding pseudohalide. The three nickel(II) compounds [{Ni(N3)(dien)}2(μ-ox)] (1), [{Ni(NCO)(dien)}2(μ-ox)] · H2O (2) and [{Ni(NCS)(dien)}2(μ-ox)] (3) are almost isostructural. The structure determinations reveal the presence of a binuclear complex with C2h symmetry, where the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis(bidentate) fashion to the twofold related nickel atoms. The distorted octahedral environment of each nickel atom is completed by the three nitrogen atoms of the diethylenetriamine ligand in a fac arrangement and one nitrogen atom from a pseudohalide ligand. Mag…

Upconversion nanoparticles with a strong acid-resistant capping

2016

Water-dispersible upconversion nanoparticles (β-NaYF:Yb,Er, UCNP) coated with a thin shell of a biocompatible copolymer comprising 2-hydroxyethylmethacrylate (HEMA) and 2-acrylamido-2-methyl-1-propanesulphonsulphonic acid (AMPS), which we will term COP, have been prepared by multidentate grafting. This capping is remarkably resistant to strong acidic conditions as low as pH 2. The additional functionality of the smart UCNP@COP nanosystem has been proved by its association to a well-known photosensitizer (namely, methylene blue, MB). The green-to-red emission ratio of the UC@COP@MB nanohybrid exhibits excellent linear dependence in the 7 to 2 pH range as a consequence of the release of the d…

Preliminary Results on the Use of Leather Chrome Shavings for Air Passive Sampling

2012

A new passive sampler based on low-density polyethylene (LDPE) layflat tube filled with chrome shavings from tannery waste residues was evaluated to determine volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in indoor and outdoor areas. VOCs were directly determined by head space-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-GC-MS) without any pretreatment of the sampler and avoiding the use of solvents. Limit of detection values ranging from 20 to 75 ng sampler−1and good repeatability values were obtained for VOCs under study with relative standard deviation values from 2.8 to 9.6% except for carbon disulfide for which it was 22.5%. The effect of the amount of chrome shavings per sampler was studied and resul…

Study of passive sampling of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in gas phase using Amberlite XAD resins as filling materials of semipermeable membranes

2013

Abstract In this work, a study was performed to evaluate the use of Amberlite XAD resins (XAD-2, XAD-4 and XAD-16), for the first time, as filling materials for low-density polyethylene membranes, which will be inserted as passive samplers for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in gas phase. The use of samplers deployed for 48 h evidenced a relative capability to retain the compounds under study. A detailed study was performed to evaluate the recovery of analytes from the sampler through microwave-assisted extraction by using acetonitrile. A clean-up step using alumina-C18 cartridges was necessary before determination of the PAHs by high performance liquid chromatography with fluoresce…

A solid-phase extraction and size-exclusion liquid chromatographic method for polyethylene glycol 25 p-aminobenzoic acid determination in urine: Vali…

2007

No previous publications about percutaneous absorption of polyethylene glycol 25 p-aminobenzoic acid (PEG-25 PABA) have been found in the literature and the expected levels to be found in human urine after sunscreens use are unknown. The method proposed here is suitable to determine PEG-25 PABA in the urine of sunscreens users in order to carry out studies on body accumulation/excretion. It is based on solid-phase extraction (SPE) with size-exclusion liquid chromatography determination. Solid-phase extraction allows the analyte to be retained and subsequently eluted for a clean-up, using a silica-based cartridge. The size-exclusion liquid chromatography of the eluted allows the rest of matr…

Die direkte quantitative auswertung von dünnschichtchromatogrammen durch remissions- und fluoreszenzmessungen

1971

Abstract Direct quantitative evaluation of thin-layer chromatograms by remission- and fluorescence measurements. Part 6. Determination of adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine from urine Adrenaline, noradrenalineand dopamine were separated from urine on aluminium oxide columns; after elution they were converted into ther O 3 ,O 4 ,N-triacetyl derivatives and separated using thin-layer chromatography. The triacetyl derivatives were in situ converted to fluorescing compounds using ethylene diamine and quantitatively estimated using the Chromatogram-Spectrophotometer (Carl Zeiss, Oberkochen). The advantage of this method over the conventional fluorometric determination of catecholamines in so…
