Correlation at Low Temperature: II. Asymptotics

The present paper is a continuation of ref. 4, where the truncated two-point correlation function for a class of lattice spin systems was proved to have exponential decay at low temperature, under a weak coupling assumption. In this paper we compute the asymptotics of the correlation function as the temperature goes to zero. This paper thus extends ref. 3 in two directions: The Hamiltonian function is allowed to have several local minima other than a unique global minimum, and we do not require translation invariance of the Hamiltonian function. We are in particular able to handle spin systems on a general lattice.

First passage time distribution of stationary Markovian processes

The aim of this paper is to investigate how the correlation properties of a stationary Markovian stochastic processes affect the First Passage Time distribution. First Passage Time issues are a classical topic in stochastic processes research. They also have relevant applications, for example, in many fields of finance such as the assessment of the default risk for firms' assets. Anomalous tracer diffusion in film forming colloidal dispersions

Film forming colloidal dispersions can be conceived as a material composed of interpenetrating hydrophobic (polymer) and hydrophilic (partially broken interfaces) phases where the transport properties of one phase are influenced by the geometric confinement effect imposed by the other. We studied the transport properties of film forming colloidal dispersions by introducing hydrophobic dye molecules into the colloidal particles and determining their motion with forced Rayleigh Scattering as a function of length scale (grating distance A) and water content. Dependence of two-proton radioactivity on nuclear pairing models

Sensitivity of two-proton emitting decay to nuclear pairing correlation is discussed within a time-dependent three-body model. We focus on the $^6$Be nucleus assuming $\alpha + p + p$ configuration, and its decay process is described as a time-evolution of the three-body resonance state. For a proton-proton subsystem, a schematic density-dependent contact (SDDC) pairing model is employed. From the time-dependent calculation, we observed the exponential decay rule of a two-proton emission. Time-Resolved Luminescence Characteristics of Cerium Doped YAG Nanocrystals

Time-resolved luminescence characteristics have been studied for cerium doped YAG nanopowders (NP) and nanostructured ceramics (NC). The results obtained have been compared to the luminescence characteristics for the well studied YAG:Ce3+ single crystal (SC). It was detected that the luminescence decay kinetics of Ce3+ related emission in nanocrystals can be closely approximated by two exponents, whereas a single exponential decay was observed in the single crystal. It was also found that the luminescence decay time and light yield of Ce3+ emission are strongly dependent on the cerium concentration and an unusual concentration quenching of Ce3+ emission was observed in YAG nanocrystals. Simultaneous detection of tissue autofluorescence decay distribution and time-gated photo-bleaching rates

ABSTRACT Experimental methodology for parallel measurements of in-vivo skin autofluorescence (AF) lifetimes and photo-bleaching dynamic has been developed and tested. The AF lifetime decay distributio ns were periodically collected from fixed tissue area with subsequent detection of the fluorescence intensity decrease dynamic at different time gates after the pulse excitation. The effect of interface roughness on exchange bias in La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 - BiFeO3 heterostructures

We characterized the interfaces of heterostructures with different stack sequences of La0.7Sr0.3MnO3/BiFeO3 (LSMO/BFO) and BFO/LSMO using TEM revealing sharp and rough interfaces, respectively. Magnetometry and magnetoresistance measurements do not show a detectable exchange bias coupling for the multistack with sharp interface. Instead, the heterostructures with rough and chemically intermixed interfaces exhibit a sizable exchange bias coupling. Furthermore, we find a temperature-dependent irreversible magnetization behavior and an exponential decay of coercive and exchange bias field with temperature suggesting a possible spin-glass-like state at the interface of both stacks.

Positron lifetime measurements on neutron‐irradiated InP crystals

Neutron‐irradiated InP single crystals have been investigated by positron‐lifetime measurements. The samples were irradiated with thermal neutrons at different fluences yielding concentrations for Sn‐transmuted atoms between 2×1015 and 2×1018 cm−3. The lifetime spectra have been analyzed into one exponential decay component. The mean lifetimes show a monotonous increase with the irradiation dose from 246 to 282 ps. The increase in the lifetime has been associated to a defect containing an Indium vacancy. Thermal annealing at 550 °C reduces the lifetime until values closed to those obtained for the as‐grown and conventionally doped InP crystals. navarrof@evalvx.ific.uv.es ; Jose.Ferrero@uv.es
