Objective: Patients with anorexia or bulimia nervosa are reported to show high levels of alexithymia and to have difficulties recognizing facially displayed emotions. The current study tested whether it could be that facial emotion recognition is a basic skill that is independent from alexithymia. INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study was to explore social and emotional functions in patients with medial frontal damage including the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). METHODS: Three patients with medial frontal lobe lesions primarily involving the ACC performed tasks on motivational decision making, emotional facial expression recognition, and social cognition, including theory of mind (ToM). Their performance on these tasks was compared with age and education matched healthy controls. To date, the IEQ has not been validated with caregivers of people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD). The study examined three methodological aspects of expressed emotion (EE) as assessed in the course of PACE (Psychosocial Assessment of Childhood Experiences) interviews with a parent. In a sample of 87 children, aged 6–13 years, enrolled in a prospective study examining the role of stress on the course of asthma, EE was assessed at three time points, 9 months apart. A high degree of agreement was found among the three concurrent measures of negative and positive EE (kappas from 0.74 to 0.97, and from 0.45 to 0.88, respectively; p ≤ 0.0001 in all instances). El presente artículo analiza las prácticas pedagógicas de la Educación Física de un contexto específico para describir cómo promueven el aprendizaje del tiempo. A partir de una etnografía se obtienen las actividades propuestas por el profesorado de Educación Física de una escuela de Meliana, en Valencia (España). Se recogen 82 tareas motrices que son analizadas y contextualizadas en el marco educativo. Los resultados, a la luz de las ciencias de la educación, muestran una tendencia a realizar tareas sin memoria de resultado en las que no existe un final marcado por las reglas y, en menor tiempo, actividades con memoria en las que los participantes se clasifican en función del desenlace.
