Tässä toimintatutkimuksessa kuvataan ja arvioidaan Jyväskylän yliopiston Chydenius-Instituutissa toteutetun uudentyyppisen harjoittelumuodon, ns. omaluokkaharjoittelun, kehittämis-ja toteutusprosessia. Ensimmäisen kerran päättöharjoittelun saattoi suorittaa omassa luokassa opettajan viransijaisena toimien 1992 syksyllä. Siten opiskelijat olivat harjoittelussa hajaantuneena eri kouluille ympäri Suomea. Opiskelijoiden harjoitteluun liittyi lukuisia tehtäviä, mm. lukukausi-ja jaksosuunnitelmien sekä harjoittelupäiväkirjan laatiminen. Background: Central neuropathic pain represents one of the most common symptoms in multiple sclerosis (MS) and it seriously affects quality of life. Spinal mechanisms may contribute to the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain in MS. Converging evidence from animal models and neurophysiological and clinical studies in humans suggests a potential effect of transcranial direct current stimulation (tc-DCS) on neuropathic pain. Spinal application of DCS, i.e., transcutaneous spinal DCS (ts-DCS), may modulate nociception through inhibition of spinal reflexes. Grounded in phraseology and corpus linguistics, this paper aims to explore the use of bilingual lexical bundles to improve the degree of naturalness and textual fit of translated texts. More specifically, this study attempts to identify lexical bundles, that is, recurrent sequences of 3–7 words with similar discursive functions in a purpose-designed comparable corpus of English and Polish patient information leaflets, with 100 text samples in each language. Because of cross-linguistic differences, we additionally apply a number of formal criteria in order to filter out the bundles in each subcorpus. Abstract This paper focuses on a fleet management problem that arises in container trucking industry. From the container transportation company perspective, the present and future operating costs to minimize can be divided in three components: the routing costs, the resource (i.e., driver and truck) assignment costs and the container repositioning costs (i.e., the costs of restoring a given container fleet distribution over the serviced territory, as requested by the shippers that own the containers). Abstract Background In contrast to earlier assumptions, there is now mounting evidence for the role of tundra soils as important sources of the greenhouse gas nitrous oxide (N2O). However, the microorganisms involved in the cycling of N2O in this system remain largely uncharacterized. Since tundra soils are variable sources and sinks of N2O, we aimed at investigating differences in community structure across different soil ecosystems in the tundra.
