Mechanisms of the Development of Allergy (MeDALL), a Seventh Framework Program European Union project, aims to generate novel knowledge on the mechanisms of initiation of allergy. Precise phenotypes of IgE-mediated allergic diseases will be defined in MeDALL. As part of MeDALL, a scientific seminar was held on January 24, 2011, to review current knowledge on the IgE-related phenotypes and to explore how a multidisciplinary effort could result in a new integrative translational approach. Public Administration and the Study of Political Order: Towards a Framework for Analysis

The contribution of this study is two-fold: First, it outlines a conceptual framework on political order; and secondly, it offers empirical illustrations on the case of Nordic cooperation. Taken together, the article makes a plea for public administration scholarship in the study of political order. Political order consists of a relatively stable arrangement of institutions that are fairly formalized and institutionalized. A common political order, moreover, entails that relevant institutions: (i) are fairly independent of pre-existing institutions; (ii) are relatively integrated and internally cohesive; and (iii) are reasonably able to influence governance processes within other institutio…
Gabor systems and almost periodic functions

Abstract Inspired by results of Kim and Ron, given a Gabor frame in L 2 ( R ) , we determine a non-countable generalized frame for the non-separable space AP 2 ( R ) of the Besicovic almost periodic functions. Gabor type frames for suitable separable subspaces of AP 2 ( R ) are constructed. We show furthermore that Bessel-type estimates hold for the AP norm with respect to a countable Gabor system using suitable almost periodic norms of sequences.

Abstract A new analytical method based on the recently proposed stir bar sorptive-dispersive microextraction (SBSDME) technique has been developed to determine eight hazardous N-nitrosamines in cosmetic products. As previous step, a simple clean-up is carried out with hexane to remove those highly lipophilic compounds that disturb the SBSDME step. Subsequently, SBSDME is performed by using magnetic nanoparticles–metal organic framework composite, CoFe2O4/MIL-101(Fe), as sorbent to entrap the target analytes, which are later chemically desorbed and measured by liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). This study presents the application of different analytical and finite element (FE) models aimed at predicting the shear resistance of reinforced concrete (RC) and reinforced concrete-encased steel joist (HRCESJ) beams with inclined transversal reinforcement in moment resisting frames (MRFs). In particular, four analytical models are taken into account, two of them specifically conceived for HRCESJ beams in seismic area.
