Indirect determination of paracetamol in pharmaceutical formulations by inhibition of the system luminol–H2O2–Fe(CN)63− chemiluminescence
1999
After a large drug scanning, the system Luminol-H2O2-Fe(CN)6(3-) is proposed for first time for the indirect determination of paracetamol. The method is based on the oxidation of paracetamol by hexacyanoferrate (III) and the subsequent inhibitory effect on the reaction between luminol and hydrogen peroxide. The procedure resulted in a linear calibration graph over the range 2.5-12.5 microg ml(-1) of paracetamol with a sample throughput of 87 samples h(-1). The influence of foreign compounds was studied and, the method was applied to determination of the drug in three different pharmaceutical formulations.
New flow-multicommutation method for the photo-chemiluminometric determination of the carbamate pesticide asulam
2004
This paper deals with a straightforward automated method for the determination of asulam in water based on the use of a flow manifold including three computer-controlled solenoid valves. The method involves irradiating on an aqueous solution of asulam in glycine buffer at pH 8.3 with UV light during 90 s, then follows the oxidation with potassium permanganate in a sulphuric medium and chemiluminescence-based detection of the resulting photoproducts. The limit of detection thus achieved is 40 mug l(-1). The detector response is linear up to a 5 mg l(-1) asulam concentration and the throughput is 30 samples h(-1). In parallel tests, oxidation with alkaline ferricyanide was also assessed and t…
eta1-Allypalladium complexes with tridentate PNP’ ligand for the assembly of modified Screen Printed Electrodes: an electrochemical study.
2015
Specific Pd-based organometallic complex, in particular the [Pd(η1-CH2–CH=CH2)(P–N–P’)]BF4 was used for the assembly of chemically modified Screen Printed Electrodes (SPEs) and their electrochemical reactivity was also investigated. For this purpose potassium ferricyanide, hexaammineruthenium(III) chloride, sodium hexachloroiridate-(III) hydrate, ascorbic acid (AA), uric acid (UA), acetaminophen (Ac), guanine (G) and adenine (A) were used to study the electron-transfer processes, which occurred at modified SPEs, fabricated by using the [Pd(η1-CH2–CH=CH2)(P–N–P’)]BF4, applying the drop casting procedure. Interesting results were obtained in the case of the guanine (G) quantitative detection,…
Solid Contact Potentiometric Sensors Based on a New Class of Ionic Liquids on Thiacalixarene Platform
2018
New solid-contact potentiometric sensors have been developed for hydrogen phosphate recognition on the basis of ionic liquids containing tetrasubstituted derivatives of thiacalix[4]arene in cone and 1,3-alternate conformations with trimethyl- and triethylammonium fragments at the lower rim substituents. The recognition of selected anions including carbonate, hydrogen phosphate, perchlorate, oxalate, picrate, and EDTA was conducted using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy with ferricyanide redox probe. For the potentiometric sensor assembling, the ionic liquids were stabilized by multiwalled carbon nanotubes and carbon black deposited on the glassy carbon electrode. The influence of supp…
Heat-induced charge transfer in cobalt iron cyanide
2006
The heating of Co(2+) ferricyanide above 801C induces an inner charge transfer from Co(2+) towards Fe(III) to form the mixed valence system Co(2+)Co(III) ferri- ferro-cyanide. This charge transfer takes place preserving the material framework and forming a solid solution of the initial and final species. The cell edge of the cubic cell (Fm-3m) of this solid solution follows a regular variation with
Fe(III)-DOTA/Fe(III)-NOTA Complexes: Attractive Alternative Markers for Future Electrochemical Biosensors
2020
Metallic complexes of macrocycles chelators 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-N,N,N-triacetic acid (NOTA) and 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetic acid (DOTA) were synthetized with iron (III) giving Fe(III)-DOTA and Fe(III)-NOTA complexes. They were studied in comparison of ferricyanide and ferrocenemethanol on cyclic voltammetry with glassy carbon working electrode (GC) and screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE). Diffusion coefficients and heterogeneous electron transfer rate constants were determined with Randles-Sevcik and Nicholson-Lavagnini methods. Using SPCE. The average values of diffusion coefficient and transfer rate constant were respectively of 1.34 × 10−6 cm2 s−1 and 1.01 …
Modeling hexanal production in oxido-reducing conditions by the yeast Yarrowia lipolytica
2009
International audience; Hexanal produced by cells of a recombinant Yarrowia lipolytica yeast expressing the hydroperoxide lyase (HPL) from green bell pepper fruit was studied under oxido-reducing conditions using the reducing dithiotreitol and oxidizing potassium ferricyanide compounds. The combined effect of pH, linoleic acid 13-hydroperoxides concentration, temperature and oxido-reducing molecules on the hexanal production was studied. Significant positive effects for the hexanal production were found using high concentrations of hydroperoxides (100 mM, 30 g/L). Adding reducing molecules enhanced significantly hexanal production while the oxidizing molecules had an inhibitory effect. Comb…
Wirkung der Insektizide Allethrin, Lindan und Jacutin-Fogetten-Sublimat auf den photosynthetischen Elektronentransport
1977
Summary During our studies of Hill-reactions of isolated chloroplasts we observed an inhibition of electron transport after an application of the smoke of «Jacutine-Fogetten» in the plant growth chamber. Therefore we tested the influence of the insecticides Lindane (Gammexan), the sublimate formed by the fumigation of «Jacutin Fogetten», and of Allethrin on the photosynthetic electron transport reactions of PS II and PS I. 39 μ M Lindane inhibits the basal, coupled and uncoupled electron transport to ferricyanide of broken chloroplasts isolated from leaves of Pisum sativum up to 35%. A higher inhibitory effect with higher concentrations is limited by the low water solubility of Lindane. On …
Oxidative cyclization of aldehyde thiosemicarbazones induced by potassium ferricyanide and by tris(p-bromophenyl)amino hexachloroantimoniate. A joint…
2005
The oxidative ring closure reaction of some aryl-substituted thiosemicarbazones induced by "bona fide" one-electron abstracting agents was investigated, by means of both experimental and computational techniques. The corresponding 1,2,4-triazole derivatives were the only cyclization products observed. The occurrence of two slightly different mechanistic pathways for the reaction is discussed.
The Effect of Light Intensity During Growth of Sinapis alba on the Electron-Transport and the Noncyclic Photophosphorylation
1975
The photosynthetic rate of Sinapis alba can be modified over a wide range by the light intensity during growth. Our present results indicate that there exist regulatory mechanisms in the field of photosynthetic primary reactions. We compared the effect of different light intensities during growth of Sinapis plants on the concentrations of soluble proteins, manganese and lipophilic plastid quinones, the electron flow from water to ferricyanide and noncyclic phosphorylation. We further determined the light dependence curves for the uncoupled electron transport with ferricyanide as electron acceptor and methylammonium-chloride as an uncoupler of photophosphorylation.
