Between the late XVIth century and the middle of the XVIIth century Naples and Messina, two large southern cities and important seats of the viceroyalty, sponsored outstanding festivals and book festivals that may also explain the aesthetical changes of the period. The "Southern Baroque" style was born with different characteristics and features from the Roman Baroque. The images of the festivals use an opulent language in relation to contemporary repertoires of windows and doors which may have contribuited to a progressive change of taste in Spain from the second half of the century and during the last years of Philip IV's reign.

On two topological cardinal invariants of an order-theoretic flavour

Noetherian type and Noetherian $\pi$-type are two cardinal functions which were introduced by Peregudov in 1997, capturing some properties studied earlier by the Russian School. Their behavior has been shown to be akin to that of the \emph{cellularity}, that is the supremum of the sizes of pairwise disjoint non-empty open sets in a topological space. Building on that analogy, we study the Noetherian $\pi$-type of $\kappa$-Suslin Lines, and we are able to determine it for every $\kappa$ up to the first singular cardinal. Morphological determination of the phototrophic community composition of biological soil crusts in coastal sand dunes in northern Germany

This dataset comprises the microbial community composition of biological soil crusts in north-German sand dunes. For this we obtained enrichment cultures of phototrophic microorganisms, by placing fragments of biocrusts of the same Petri dishes as used for sequencing, in Petri dishes with Bold Basal (1N BBM) agarized medium (Bischoff and Bold 1963). Cultures were grown under standard laboratory conditions: with a 12-hour alteration of light and dark phases and irradiation of 25 μmol photons m-2 s-1 at a temperature 20 ± 5 ºС. Rapid and specific detection of F17-related pilin and adhesin genes in diarrheic and septicemic Escherichia coli strains by multiplex PCR

The F17-related adhesins are prevalent in Escherichia coli strains isolated from calves with diarrhea or septicemia and from lambs with nephropathy. The F17 family includes the F17a, F17b, F17c, and F111 fimbriae produced by bovine E. coli strains and the G agglutinin produced by human uropathogenic E. coli strains. An easy and inexpensive multiplex PCR method was developed to detect all the F17-related fimbriae and to identify four subtypes of structural subunit genes and two distinct subfamilies of adhesin genes by only two runs of amplification. The essay studies the description of the triumphal apparatus created by the guild of goldsmiths and silversmiths of Palermo on the occasion of the celebrations in 1711 for the victory of Philip V in Brihuega. An account of these pieces of ephemeral architecture was published by Pietro Vitale in his Chronica of the same year, and this allows us to place the work in the wider artistic and cultural environment of Palermo during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

The time-harmonic Maxwell equations

In this chapter we shall see that the solution of the time-harmonic Maxwell equations with real coefficients can be transformed to time independent partial differential equations with complex coefficients. Then we introduce a finite element approximation proposed in [Křižek, Neittaanmaki, 1989]. A similar technique is analyzed in [Křižek, Neittaanmaki, 1984b], [Monk, 1992a] (for fully time dependent problems see, e.g., [Monk 1992b,c]).
