Making and breaking relationships on social media: the impacts of brand and influencer betrayals

2021

This study considers how the relationships between social media influencers, brands and individuals are intertwined on social media and analyses the spill-over effects of feelings of betrayal. An experimental design with two transgression scenarios (influencer vs. brand) was created, and 250 individuals were recruited to participate in the study. The results show that a perceived betrayal by a brand can negatively affect the perceived coolness of the social media influencer that has endorsed the brand, as well as the parasocial relationships that followers have with the influencer. The 16th-century pastoral plays in Dubrovnik (Ragusa), like the Italian ones which inspired them, are marked by the strong presence of sounds, songs and choruses to increase the fantastical and sentimental emphasis of the performances. Their evolution, from Dzore Drzic eclogues to the pastorals of Antun Sasin, and through Mauro Vetranovic's "Orfeo", is characterized by the acquisition of a Petrarchian language in the Croatian pieces of Nikola Naljeskovic. Alpha and deuteron irradiation effects on silica nanoparticles

We present an experimental investigation focused on the effects of alpha and deuteron irradiation on different silica nanoparticles. The study has been devoted also to characterize the induced point defects and the eventual structural modifications to evaluate the effects of the different irradiation source in comparison with the bulk materials. After irradiation up to about 10^16 ions cm^-2, we performed electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), photoluminescence (PL), infrared (IR) absorption, Raman, and atomic force microscopy (AFM) measurements. The AAPM TG-43 brachytherapy dosimetry formalism, introduced in 1995, has become a standard for brachytherapy dosimetry worldwide; it implicitly assumes that charged-particle equilibrium (CPE) exists for the determination of absorbed dose to water at different locations, except in the vicinity of the source capsule. Concentration depending fluorescence of 8-(di-(2-picolyl)) aminoBODIPY in solution

[EN] An 8-dipicolylBODIPY derivative has been prepared and its photophysical properties evaluated under different conditions. Two different structures, hemicyanine and cyanine, are observed (depending on the solvent or the solution concentration). The hemicyanine form is not emissive whereas the cyanine form is fluorescent. This behavior is related with the planarity degree of the BODIPY core. The X-ray structure of the compound is reported and it shows that in solid state the hemicyanine form is present. Simulation and experimental investigations on dynamic after cavity interaction (ACI)

In recent years, the so called after cavity interaction (ACI) in high power gyrotrons operating in the 100–200 GHz range gained attention as an influence factor on overall efficiency. While investigations concentrated on ACI as a stationary effect until now, recent simulations show that an undesired interaction in the uptaper region can also result in additional parasitic oscillations. In this paper, such non-stationary, dynamic processes are investigated in first simulations and experiments.

Charge collection efficiency and resolution of an irradiated double-sided silicon microstrip detector operated at cryogenic temperatures

Abstract This paper presents results on the measurement of the cluster shapes, resolution and charge collection efficiency of a double-sided silicon microstrip detector after irradiation with 24 GeV protons to a fluence of 3.5×10 14  p/cm 2 and operated at cryogenic temperatures. An empirical model is presented which describes the expected cluster shapes as a function of depletion depth, and is shown to agree with the data. It is observed that the clusters on the p-side broaden if the detector is under-depleted, leading to a degradation of resolution and efficiency.
