Our research fits in the overall framework of French as a Foreign Language oral teaching methods and focuses will deal with the phenomenon of “foreign accent”, those marks that reveal in transparency the presence of the phonological sieve of the mother tongue, and we will focus on the pronunciation of oral vowels in French by Polish-speaking learners. The article offers a contribution to the interaction research in the foreign language teaching and learning. It starts with an overview of various research approaches to the foreign language teaching and learning, from the 60s to the present days. A multimodal analysis of an excerpt of videorecorded classroom interaction is then provided. The analysis is focused on several aspects of classroom participation and teaching sequences. Some implications of the present research for teachers' training are finally provided.

Financial Fragmentation and Economic Growth in Europe

Using industry data from Eurostat and applying the Rajan-Zingales methodology, we investigate the real growth effects of banking sector integration in the European Union. Our sample stretches from 2000 until 2012 and includes the phase of rapid financial integration before the global financial crisis as well as the following phase of financial fragmentation and bank deleveraging. We find evidence that banking sector integration had a more than four times stronger growth effect during the crisis than in normal times. Our basic assumption is that all voices are born from listening. We will focus on the pronouncing difficulties of the vowel /y/ by Polish learners of level A1/A2: a preliminary descriptive and comparative study, corroborated by an acoustic study, determined that the phoneme /y/ is often pronounced: 1) too posterior and/or too loose (thus tending towards the /u/); 2) too anterior (tending towards the /i/).
