Purpose In this paper, the following research question is addressed: Why do business organisations recruit employees with a foreign background? This was examined in terms of the values that guide organisations and their management. The paper aims to discuss this issue. In this article, children’s views to language are discussed. The data comes from a project called Situated metalinguistic awareness and foreign language learning. It is argued that in children’s conceptualizations, the knowledge and skills that are required at school are separate from the skills of everyday life. For example, the English they learn in everyday life - “Play Station English” - is not identified with the “Classroom English”. Tämä pro gradu -tutkielma on osa pitkittäistutkimusta, joka on seurannut 11 vastavalmistuneen vieraan kielen opettajan kehitystä noin kymmenen vuoden ajan. Seitsemän opettajaa jatkoi tutkimuksen parissa tänä vuonna ja uusimmat haastattelut toteutettiin keväällä 2014. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää millaisia oppilaisiin liittyviä tunteita kieltenopettajilla on ja ovatko kyseiset tunteet mahdollisesti muuttuneet vuosien saatossa. Tutkimus lähestyi tunteita relationaalisesta näkökulmasta. Sen mukaan tunteet ovat pääosin sosiaalisia ja syntyvät vuorovaikutuksessa ympäristön ja muiden ihmisten kanssa.
