ABA-independent SnRK2 kinases are involved in plant response to salinity

2013

Un poster a été présenté lors de cet événement SPE IPM CT non renseigné car non soutenu par INRA; International audience; Sucrose non-fermenting 1-Related Protein Kinases type 2 family (known as SnRK2) are important group of kina- ses present in all tested plant species. It is known that all SnRK2 (excluding SnRK2.9) are activated in response to salinity and hyperosmolarity in Arabidopsis thaliana protoplasts after short time of treatment. In plants, they are in- volved in the early responses to drought and salinity. Recently published data indicate that SnRK2.4 plays important role in the maintenance of root system architecture during salt stress and in response to cadmium treatment. It wa…

Species diversity of the deep-water gulper sharks (Squaliformes: Centrophoridae:Centrophorus) in North Atlantic waters - current status and taxonomic…

2014

The gulper sharks (genus Centrophorus) are a group of deep-water benthopelagic sharks with a worldwide dis- tribution. The alpha taxonomy of the group has historically been problematic and the number of species included in the genus has varied considerably over the years and is still under debate. Gulper sharks are routinely caught in mid- and deep-water fisheries worldwide and some have shown a considerable decline in abundance in the last few decades. Clear and consistent species discrimination of Centrophorus is essential for an efficient and sustain- able management of these fisheries resources. Our study used molecular cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) and 16S ribosomal RNA gene seque…

The marine diapsid reptile Endennasaurus from the Upper Triassic of Italy

2005

The marine reptile Endennasaurus from the Upper Triassic Zorzino Limestone of northern Italy is rede- scribed and reassessed. New details of the skull and postcra- nial skeleton are revealed, confirming the attribution of this genus to the diapsid reptile clade Thalattosauriformes. Phylo- genetic analysis suggests that Endennasaurus was related to the European genus Askeptosaurus and the Chinese Anshun- saurus. Despite a rather conservative postcranial morphology, Endennasaurus clearly occupied a highly specialized dietary niche as it combined a slender tapering premaxillary rostrum with a complete absence of either marginal or palatal teeth.

Morphology and function of the sutures in the dermal skull roof of Discosauriscus austriacus Makowsky; 1876 (Seymouriamorpha; Lower Permian of Moravi…

1995

Abstract Sutural patterns in the dermal skull roof were among others studied in Discosauriscus austriacus (Seymouriamorpha) and Onchiodon labyrinthicus (Temnospondyli). Main sutural structures are defined as lamellae; shelves; vertical walls; and grooves. These types have different functional manifestations. The basic pattern is described for Discosauriscus austriacus. Similarities of patterns in taxa not closely related are most likely a result of convergence. Intraspecific variability is generally low but can be observed during ontogeny. The patterns of subjacent areas in Eusthenopteron foordi (Osteolepiformes) are very similar to Discosauriscus austriacus. It is shown that sutural morpho…

Organometallic complexes with biological molecues, part 3.in vivo cytotoxicity of diorganotin (IV) chloro and triorganotin (IV) chloro derivatives of…

1994

In order to obtain a continuous source of mitotic metaphases, gill tissue of Aphaius fasciatus (Pisces, Cyprinodontiformes) has been successfully employed. Results gathered after exposure of fish to R2SnClpenG, R3SnClpenGNa, to the parents R2SnCl2, R3SnCl and to penGNa (penGNa = penicillinGNa; R = methyl, butyl and phenyl) suggest that both the parent organotin (IV) chloride and organotin (IV) chloropenG derivatives are toxic while penGNa exerts no significant toxic activity. Essentially, all of the chromosome abnormalities are classifiable as irregularly staining of chromosomes, breakages, side-arm bridges or pseudochiasmata.

Molecular and Morphological Differentiation of Two Similar Species of Accacoeliidae (Digenea):Accacladocoelium macrocotyleandA. nigroflavumfrom Sunfi…

2014

In a study of 106 sunfish, Mola mola (L.), from Mediterranean waters, 2,731 worms, belonging to 2 congeneric species of accacoeliids, Accacladocoelium macrocotyle (Diesing, 1858) Robinson, 1934 and Accacladocoelium nigroflavum (Rudolphi, 1819) Robinson, 1934 , were collected from the digestive system. It is often difficult to differentiate between these 2 species as they are sympatric and very similar; in fact, according to previous descriptions, the extent of the vitellarium is the only interspecific difference, described as extending posteriorly to the ovary in A. macrocotyle and as anterior to the anterior testis in A. nigroflavum. However, this diagnostic trait is not always valid; more…
