Spectral modeling of scintillator for the NEMO-3 and SuperNEMO detectors

We have constructed a GEANT4-based detailed software model of photon transport in plastic scintillator blocks and have used it to study the NEMO-3 and SuperNEMO calorimeters employed in experiments designed to search for neutrinoless double beta decay. We compare our simulations to measurements using conversion electrons from a calibration source of $\rm ^{207}Bi$ and show that the agreement is improved if wavelength-dependent properties of the calorimeter are taken into account. In this article, we briefly describe our modeling approach and results of our studies.

In many countries, executive stock options (ESOs) have been subject to financial scandals during these last years, that encountered for a deep need of transparency, particularly about this compensation device for managers. The aim of this paper is to present, in a first part, the ways of expensing ESOs in through the European IRFS 2 and the American FAS 123 standards. The second part analyses ESOs accounting and its consequences, namely regarding the requirements about measuring this incentive mechanism at its fair value.
Hadronic calibration of the ATLAS liquid argon end-cap calorimeter in the pseudorapidity region in beam tests

Abstract A full azimuthal φ -wedge of the ATLAS liquid argon end-cap calorimeter has been exposed to beams of electrons, muons and pions in the energy range 6 GeV ⩽ E ⩽ 200 GeV at the CERN SPS. The angular region studied corresponds to the ATLAS impact position around the pseudorapidity interval 1.6 | η | 1.8 . The beam test setup is described. A detailed study of the performance is given as well as the related intercalibration constants obtained. Following the ATLAS hadronic calibration proposal, a first study of the hadron calibration using a weighting ansatz is presented. The results are compared to predictions from Monte Carlo simulations, based on GEANT 3 and GEANT 4 models.
GEANT4 simulation of the neutron background of the C6D6 set-up for capture studies at n_TOF

The neutron sensitivity of the C6D6 detector setup used at n_TOF facility for capture measurements has been studied by means of detailed GEANT4 simulations. A realistic software replica of the entire n_TOF experimental hall, including the neutron beam line, sample, detector supports and the walls of the experimental area has beeni mplemented in the simulations. The simulations have been analyzed in the same manner as experimental data, in particular by applying the Pulse Height Weighting Technique. Stratégie de diversification et structure de propriété des entreprises françaises

International audience; Notre étude s'intéresse à l'impact de l'actionnariat des dirigeants sur la stratégie de diversification des entreprises françaises. Nous analysons l'incidence de la participation au capital du dirigeant sur cette stratégie. Un certain nombre de variables de contrôle sont introduites puisqu'elles peuvent entraver la capacité des dirigeants à diversifier. Nous testons notre hypothèse relative à l'existence de différences dans le degré de diversification selon la structure de l'actionnariat du dirigeant, sur un échantillon de 266 sociétés françaises cotées à la Bourse de Paris.
Communication engageante et représentations sociales : une application en faveur de la protection de l’environnement et du recyclage

In the agency relation between the shareholders and the CEO, everybody try toreinforce his or her position. For the CEO, it means the pursuit of a betterentrenchment, which allows him to reduce the risk of being dismissed. Theentrenchment model develops the importance for the CEO to get internal or externalconnections and to make efforts in order to attain a higher performance.
