Pētījums ir veltīts Lielbritānijas un Eiropas Kopienas attiecību analīzei Mārgaretas Tečeres vadīto Ministru Kabinetu periodā, proti, no 1979. līdz 1990. gadam. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot šo attiecību raksturu dinamiku dažādos apskatāmā perioda posmos, lai rastu atbildi uz darba hipotēzi. Darba hipotēze balstās uz pieņēmumu, ka no divām dažādām Eiropas integrācijas teoriju grupām M. Tečeres periodā Lielbritānijas un Eiropas Kopienas attiecībās dominēja integrācijas starpvalstu teoriju pazīmes. Darba gaitā šī hipotēze apstiprinās – pētījums liecina, ka M. Introduction: Over the last years, electronic cigarettes (ECs) have become more popular, particularly in individuals who want to give up smoking tobacco. The aim of the present study was to assess the influence of the different e-smoking liquids on the viability and proliferation of human periodontal ligament fibroblasts. Method and materials: For this study six test solutions with components from ECs were selected: lime-, hazelnut- and menthol-flavored liquids, nicotine, propylene glycol, and PBS as control group. Abstract An easy-to-follow methodology is developed for the assessment of regional evapotranspiration in Castilla-La Mancha, a semi-arid region of Spain. The methodology is applied to barley crops to monitor the irrigation scheduling over the region, by using remote sensing techniques supplemented by ground measurements. High neutral metallocarboxypeptidase activity (EC 3.4.17) has earlier been detected in young seedlings of rice (Oryza sativa L.) using benzyloxycarbonyl-L-phenylalanyl-L-alanine (Z-Phe-Ala) as substrate at pH 7. This finding was confirmed, and it was observed that the activity could be assayed with higher specificity and sensitivity by using Z-Gly-Ala or Z-Gly-Phe as substrate at pH 6.5–7. Cigarette smoke is the main source of indoor chemical and toxic elements. Cadmium (Cd), Thallium (Tl), Lead (Pb) and Antimony (Sb) are important contributors to smoke-related health risks. Data on the association between Rare Earth Elements (REE) Cerium (Ce) and Lanthanum (La) and domestic smoking are scanty. To evaluate the relationship between cigarette smoke, indoor levels of PM2.5 and heavy metals, 73 children were investigated by parental questionnaire and skin prick tests.
