ITIL-viitekehyksen mukaisen ongelmanhallintaprosessin kriittiset menestystekijät : tapaustutkimus IT-palveluorganisaatiossa
2016
Tutkielman tarkoituksena on tutkia Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) -viitekehyksen mukaisen ongelmanhallintaprosessin kriittisiä menestystekijöitä. ITIL-viitekehys on laajasti käytetty kokoelma parhaita käytäntöjä IT-palvelunhallintaan, joita voidaan soveltaa kuhunkin organisaatioon sopivaksi tarpeiden mukaan. Ongelmanhallintaprosessi on yksi palvelunhallinnan prosesseista, jolla on tärkeä rooli insidenttien eli tapahtumien juurisyiden tutkinnassa. Ongelmalla tarkoitetaan yhden tai useamman tapahtuman tarkempaa juurisyytä. Ongelmanhallinnan keskeinen tehtävä on juurisyiden löytäminen ja poistaminen. Kirjallisuuskatsauksessa perehdytään ITIL-viitekehykseen ja ongelmanhall…

“Anything taking shape?” : Capturing various layers of small group collaborative problem solving in an experiential geometry course in initial teache…
2022
Collaborative problem solving (CPS) is widely recognized as a prominent 21st-century skill to be mastered. Until recently, research on CPS has often focused on problem solution by the individual; the interest in investigating how the theorized problem-solving constructs function as broader social units, such as pairs or small groups, is relatively recent. Capturing the complexity of CPS processes in group-level interaction is challenging. Therefore, a method of analysis capturing various layers of CPS was developed that aimed for a deeper understanding of CPS as a small-group enactment. In the study, small groups of teacher education students worked on two variations of open-ended CPS tasks…

Immobilization of proteins in silica gel: Biochemical and biophysical properties
2015
The development of silica-based sol-gel techniques compatible with the retention of protein structure and function started more than 20 years ago, mainly for the design of biotechnological devices or biomedical applications. Silica gels are optically transparent, exhibit good mechanical stability, are manufactured with different geometries, and are easily separated from the reaction media. Biomolecules encapsulated in silica gel normally retain their structural and functional properties, are stabilized with respect to chemical and physical insults, and can sometimes exhibit enhanced activity in comparison to the soluble form. This review briefly describes the chemistry of protein encapsulat…
Proteomics in antitumor research
2006
Proteins are the molecular players of fine-tuned regulatory pathways that underlie the behavior of any cell type. Derangement of this wide protein circuitry has a profound effect on cell life and ultimately contributes to the development of diseases such as cancer. New proteomic technologies are rapidly evolving to define and characterize the nodes of this altered protein network, both inside and outside cancer cells. Hopefully, these technologies will become user-friendly laboratory tools to improve cancer management from early detection to the development of rational and patient-tailored therapeutic strategies.
Interaction of mushroom tyrosinase with aromatic amines, o-diamines and o-aminophenols
2004
3-Amino-L-tyrosine was found to be a substrate of mushroom tyrosinase, contrary to what had previously been reported in the literature. A series of amino derivatives of benzoic acid were tested as substrates and inhibitors of the enzyme. 3-Amino-4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 4-amino-3-hydroxybenzoic acid and 3,4-diaminobenzoic acid were oxidized by this enzyme, as previously reported for Neurospora crassa tyrosinase, but 4-aminobenzoic acid and 3-aminobenzoic acid were not. Interestingly, 3-amino-4-hydroxybenzoic acid was oxidized five times faster than 4-amino-3-hydroxybenzoic acid, confirming the importance of proton transfer from the hydroxyl group at C-4 position. All compounds inhibited the m…
Technical improvements for analysis of recalcitrant proteins by LC-MS : the mycorrhiza responsive membrane proteome as a case study
2012
Arbuscular mycorrhizas (AM) are widespread symbiotic associations between plant roots and AM fungi. Deep membrane alterations are the foremost morphological changes occurring in the host plant in response to AM symbiosis. Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) is the workhorse method in AM proteomics. Membrane proteins are under-represented in 2-DE because of their hydrophobicity, low abundance, and precipitation at their isoelectric point, thereby few are the identified membrane proteins involved in sustaining the AM symbiosis. Membrane proteomics is still challenging due to 2-DE related shortcomings, however latest trends and advancements in mass spectrometry (MS)-based quantitative p…
