Physico-chemical study of the radiopharmaceuticals 99mTc-DMSA, 99mTc-EDTA and 99mTc-DTPA interaction with plasmatic proteins.
1989
This report studies the binding rate of the radiopharmaceuticals 99mTc-DTPA, 99mTc-EDTA and 99mTc-DMSA to plasmatic proteins. The proteins bind to the tested radiopharmaceuticals in the following sequence: 99mTc-DTPA less than 99mTc-DMSA(C1) less than 99mTc-EDTA less than 99mTc-DMSA(C2) where C1 and C2 represent two different Tc-DMSA complexes. The thermodynamic study suggests a quantitative relationship of radiopharmaceutical:protein = 1:1 and an almost nonexistent influence of the temperature, which means that the interacting forces in this process are relatively weak.
Entry-Item-Quantity-ABC Analysis-Based Multitype Cigarette Fast Sorting System
2012
Published version of an article in the journal: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2012/847591 Open access Numerous items, small order, and frequent delivery are the characteristics of many distribution centers. Such characteristics generally increase the operating costs of the distribution center. To remedy this problem, this study employs the Entry-Item-Quantity (EIQ) method to identify the characteristic of the cigarette distribution center and further analyzes the importance degree of customers and the frequently ordered products by means of EQ/EN/IQ-B/IK statistic charts. Based on these analyses as well as the total rep…
Conformational Properties of Nickel(II) Octaethylporphyrin in Solution. 2. A Low-Temperature Optical Absorption Spectroscopy Study
1996
We have measured the absorption spectrum of Ni(II) octaethylporphyrin in CH2Cl2 and in a 50% v/v isopentane/ethyl ether mixture as a function of temperature between 150 and 300 K and 40 and 300 K, respectively. The Soret band can be decomposed into two subbands whose frequencies differ by 220 cm-1. By analogy with resonance Raman results (Jentzen et al. J. Phys. Chem. 1996, 100, 14184−14191 (preceding paper)), we attribute the low-frequency subband to a conformer with a nonplanar macrocycle structure, whereas the high-frequency subband is interpreted as resulting from a planar conformer. The subbands' intensity ratios exhibit a solvent-dependent van't Hoff behavior between 300 and 160 K. Cr…
Double-Electron Excitations in L-edges X-ray-Absorption Spectra of W, Ir and Cs Oxide Compounds
1993
Very strong double-electron excitations have been observed for the first time in the W, Ir L 3-edge and Cs L 1,2,3-edges X-ray-absorption spectra of tungsten and iridium oxide thin films and cesium oxide containing glasses. They are expressed as peaks with a width of several electron-volts located at the absorption background above the edge. The positions of these features are in good agreement with atomic calculations in the Z+1 approximation. They can be attributed to the transitions 2p4d → 5d5d for the L 2,3-edges and 2s4d → 6p5d for the L 1-edge with the dipole selection rules for the angular and total angular momentum ΔL=±1, ΔJ=0,±1.
Training Programs – Training and Development Alternatives for Students
2013
Abstract Training programs have been established as a form of training for adults, being generally used within companies’ personal development alternatives starting from the employees’ performance assessment processes. The current century requires a different way of approaching academic education, starting from the employers’ observation in reference to the lack of the graduates’ key competencies in the hiring process. We intend to demonstrate that it is useful to introduce training programs as an alternative form of education in academia, as well as in the high school environment.
Mismos caminos, distintos destinos.
Accommodative response in various design soft contact lens wearers
2021
The progression of myopia in young adults due to inadequate accommodation is currently one of the global research challenges. Studies have demonstrated that multifocal contact lenses have a different effect on accommodative response. The aim of this study was to assess the accommodative lag using various design multifocal contact lenses at different working distances. The study was conducted on 10 emmetropic subjects aged 22â28 years. An open-field autorefractor PowerRef 3 was used to assess the response of eye accommodation to stimuli placed at a distance of 25 cm and 40 cm for subjects wearing monofocal and multifocal contact lenses. To determine the effectiveness of contact lens design f…
A comparative study on sample preparation procedures for supplementary foods by ICP-OES: Green chemistry considerations
2015
An inductively coupled plasma optical emission (ICP-OES) method was developed for the simultaneous determination of major, minor and trace elements in food. Preliminary studies focused on selecting suitable operational conditions in order to provide the highest sensitivity and to maximize the number of analytes to be determined without spectral or matrix interference. Ruthenium and rhenium were evaluated as internal standards and samples were analyzed at different dilution levels. Furthermore, a comparative study was carried out by using three sample digestion methods, microwave-assisted digestion with HNO3/H2O2, dry ashing and dry ashing with Mg(NO3)2/MgO as an ashing aid. Adequate precisi…
Tinkering with the two-to-one interview: Reflections on the use of two interviewers in qualitative constructionist inquiry
2021
Abstract Typically, qualitative interviews implicate a single interviewer. In this article, we consider an alternative comprising the simultaneous, active involvement of two interviewers. We base our considerations on experiences using the two-to-one interview in a nationwide research project on disability and physical activity. In addition to untapping and developing a qualitative interview method, the article provides an example in action of tinkering in qualitative inquiry. Tinkering entails a constant questioning of what to do, what is best, and what is appropriate within each moment of the research. Echoing social constructionist scholars, we argue that this flexible approach is useful…
Temporal Control of Pulses from a High-Repetition-Rate Tunable Ti:Sapphire Laser by Active Q-switching
2003
We investigated the lasing characteristics of a Ti:sapphire laser pumped by a pulsed high-repetition-rate Nd:YAG laser. The pump laser has a pulsewidth of 450 ns, while the Ti:sapphire laser shows a significantly shorter pulse width of 25 ns for suitably intense pumping. The energy conversion efficiency of the laser is more than 10%. To synchronize different lasers and to avoid multiple spiking during one pump pulse, we use a Brewster-cut Pockels cell in the resonator for Q-switching. The temporal profile and conversion efficiency are determined and compared to theoretical estimates.
