Effect of Gold(I) on the Room-Temperature Phosphorescence of Ethynylphenanthrene.
2020
The synthesis of two series of gold(I) complexes containing the general formulae PR 3 ‐Au‐C≡C‐phenanthrene (PR 3 = PPh 3 ( 1a / 2a ), PMe 3 ( 1b / 2b ), PNaph 3 ( 1c / 2c )) or (diphos)(Au‐C≡C‐phenanthrene) 2 (diphos = 1,1‐ bis (diphenylphosphino)methane, dppm ( 1d / 2d ); 1,4‐ bis (diphenylphosphino)butane, dppb ( 1e / 2e )) have been synthesized. The two series differ on the position of the alkynyl substituent on the phenanthrene chromophore, being at the 9‐position (9‐ethynylphenanthrene) for the L1 ‐series and at the 2‐position (2‐ethynylphenanthrene) for the L2 ‐series. The compounds have been fully characterized by 1 H and 31 P NMR and IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and single cry…
High accessibility and chemical homogeneity in mesoporous materials: silicas, gold-containing composites and phosphates
2015
Folate-targeted gold nanorods for effective combined photothermal-chemotherapy of osteosarcoma
2016
Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common primary malignant neoplasm of bone. The annual incidence of osteosarcoma is 8-11 per million in the age group of 15-19 years. Despite its rarity, it has been reported to be the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children and young adults. In particular with regard to OS therapy, a variety of nanostructures have been exploited in the areas of OS imaging. Among them, Gold nanorods (AuNRs) have unique optical and chemical-physical properties that make them appealing for biomedical applications such as photothermal therapy, drug delivery and imaging of solid tumors. The noble metal core is biologically inert, contributing to low toxicity and go…
NIR LASER-RESPONSIVE FOLATE-TARGETED GOLD NANORODS AS EFFICIENT THERANOSTIC TOOL FOR OSTEOSARCOMA TREATMENT
2017
Folate-targeted gold nanorods (GNRs) are here proposed as selective theranostic agents for osteosarcoma treatment. Taking advantage of the attractive physiochemical and optical properties of GNRs they can be proposed as effective and selective platform to obtain a targeted intracellular drug release, photothermal therapy and cancer imaging, which may improve therapeutic outcomes of osteosarcoma. An amphiphilic polysaccharide graft-copolymer, named INU-LA-PEG-FA, and a folic acid functionalized α,β-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl)-D,L-aspartamide (PHEA-FA), have been synthesized to act as coating agents for GNRs. The obtained polymer-coated GNRs were characterized in terms of size, shape, zeta potenti…
Poliitikon etäältä diagnosoiminen on sopimatonta
2021
Psykiatrian eettisiä ohjeistuksia on viime vuosina toistuvasti rikottu, kun lääkäri on arvioinut poliitikon mielenterveyttä julkisuudessa. Myös pääministeri Sanna Marin on joutunut psykiatrisoivan spekuloinnin kohteeksi. nonPeerReviewed
Amperometric Biosensor and Front-End Electronics for Remote Glucose Monitoring by Crosslinked PEDOT-Glucose Oxidase
2018
Focusing on the interplay between interface chemistry, electrochemistry, and integrated electronics, we show a novel low-cost and flexible biosensing platform for continuous glucose monitoring. The amperometric biosensing system features a planar three-electrode structure on a plastic substrate, and a wireless near-field communication-powered electronic system performing sensor analog front-end, A/D conversion, digital control, and display tasks. The working electrode is made of electropolymerized poly (3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) film onto a polyethylene terephthalate/gold electrode followed by immobilization of cross-linked glucose oxidase by glutaraldehyde. The advantages offered by such…
Il tentativo francese di controllo in TIM. Rule of Law nel Golden Power
2020
Il contributo, a partire dal caso del tentativo di controllo di Vivendi in TIM, discute i limiti dettati dalla rule of law nell'esercizio del golden power.
Rayleigh-instability-driven dewetting of thin Au and Ag films on indium-tin-oxide surface under nanosecond laser irradiations
2013
Investigations have been carried out on laser-beam-induced nanoparticle (NP) formation in thin (5 nm) Au and Ag films on indium-tin-oxide substrate. After the irradiation the films were observed to break-up into NPs through a dewetting mechanism. This mechanism was investigated as a Rayleigh-instability- driven process. In fact, for each used laser fluence, the resulting Au and Ag NPs' mean size and surface-to-surface mean distance were quantified and correlated between them in the framework of the Rayleigh-instability theory showing an excellent agreement. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2013.
Physicochemical investigation of surfactant-coated gold nanoparticles synthesized in the confined space of dry reversed micelles
2006
Abstract Gold nanoparticle/surfactant composites have been synthesized by a novel reduction reaction in the confined space of dry sodium bis(2- ethylhexyl)sulfosuccinate (AOT) or lecithin reversed micelles dispersed in n-heptane and cyclohexane, respectively. The reaction was carried out by adding an opportune amount of anhydrous hydrazine/tetrahydrofuran solution to a suspension of HAuCl4-containing dry reversed micelles dispersed in organic solvent. UV–vis investigation ascertained the formation of stable metal gold nanoparticles and the analysis of FT-IR spectra highlighted the formation of an oriented surfactant monolayer at the nanoparticle surface. Simple evaporation under vacuum of t…
The precious monstrance, transformed into a reliquary in the 17th century, kept in the treasury of the Mother Church of Geraci Siculo (PA), has long been known to scholars because it was signed by …
