An integrated geophysical survey has been conducted at the Tarragona’s Cathedral (Catalonia, NE Spain) with the aim to confirm the potential occurrence of archaeological remains of the Roman Temple dedicated to the Emperor Augustus. Many hypotheses have been proposed about its possible location, the last ones regarding the inner part of the Cathedral, which is one of the most renowned temples of Spain (twelfth century) evolving from Romanesque to Gothic styles. Public policy in families and successions regulations : the case of ?talaq?

According to EU Regulations on transnational families and successions, a foreign rule remains without effect if it is deemed contrary to the so-called public policy (ordre public) of the forum?s legal system. As a consequence, judges have to evaluate whether the application of foreign law is incompatible with fundamental principles of the domestic law, especially whether it would constitute a violation against human rights. An outstanding controversial issue is today represented by Islamic repudiation (talaq): two contrasting Italian judicial decisions of August 2020 may illustrate how difficult it could be to determine what public policy is.

Joaquin.Beltran@uv.es En este estudio léxico hemos querido comprobar si la terminología para “la muerte” se mantenía constante en autores tan distanciados temporalmente como Lucrecio, Séneca, San Agustín y Sidonio. Las diferencias encontradas se deben fundamentalmente al hecho de escribir en prosa o verso y también a la ideología. Si ellas no son notables en la terminología básica, si lo son en las perífrasis para el suicidio, así como el creciente uso de ciertos participios sustantivados. The blood-brain barrier prevents the passage of toxic compounds from blood circulation into brain tissue. Unfortunately, drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, and other diseases also do not cross the blood-brain barrier. In the present investigation, we used isolated porcine brain capillary endothelial cells and a flow cytometric calcein-AM assay to analyze inhibition of P-glycoprotein, a major constituent of the blood-brain barrier. We tested 8 alkamides isolated from Echinacea angustifolia and found that four of them inhibited P-glycoprotein-mediated calcein transport in porcine brain capillary endothelial cells.

Neste estudo aborda-se a problemática da fundação da antiga cidade romana de Bracara Augusta, levando em consideração o registo arqueológico e sua problemática e significado. À parte da fundação ex novo da cidade ou da preexistência de populações autóctones no local, apresentam-se fortes vestígios indicadores da importância do culto imperial e dinástico que pensamos fortemente associados ao acto simbólico da sua fundação ou "refundação" segundo uma cerimónia semelhante à da "Roma Quadrada" augústea.
