Aim: The aim of this article is to investigate the interdependence between adolescent and adult students’ anxiety and their foreign language speaking achievements. It has been proved that there is no correlation between adolescent learners’ anxiety and their speaking attainments in a foreign language as well as that there is a weak correlation between adult students’ anxiety and their speaking achievements.
 Method: The author of the study employed quantitative research. Data was collected from anxiety questionnaires completed by the students and from achievement sheets filled in by the English teacher based on five-minute speeches performed by adolescent and adult students.

Dažādu H1 - antihistamīnu medikamentu efektivitātes salīdzinošs izvērtējums

H1-antihistamīni ir medikamentu grupa, kuru izmanto visā pasaulē, galvenokārt, alerģisko reakciju mazināšanai. Galvenā loma alerģiskā iekaisuma patoģenēzē ir histamīnam. Darba mērķis bija salīdzinoši noskaidrot piecu H1-antihistamīna medikamentu – Suprastin 25 mg, Tavegyl 1 mg, Claritin 10 mg, Zyrtec 10 mg un Opexa 20 mg darbības efektivitāti, izmantojot ādas dūriena testu ar histamīnu. Pētījuma rezultāti uzrādīja, ka dūriena testā izsaukto pāpulas un mākulas reakciju vislabāk samazināja Opexa (bilastīns), tad Zyrtec (cetirizīna dihidrohlorīds), tad sekoja Claritin (loratadīns), Suprastin (hloropiramīna hidrohlorīds) un Tavegyl (klemastīns). Several histone gene repeating units containing the genes for histones H1, H2A, H2B, H3 and H4 were isolated by screening a genomic DNA library from the midge Chironomus thummi ssp. thummi. The nucleotide sequence of one complete histone gene repeating unit was determined. This repeating unit contains one copy of each of the five histone genes in the order and orientation mean value of H3 H4 mean value of H2A H2B H1 mean value of. The overall length is 6262 bp. The orientation, nucleotide sequence and inferred amino acid sequence as well as the chromosomal arrangement and localization are different from those reported for Drosophila melanogaster. How do people understand belonging and what kinds of stances toward belonging do they take? What kind of knowledge or ways of knowing (EISNER, 2008) does artistic practice yield about belonging? We ask these questions in this article, which is based on the research project Crossing Borders, in which we used participatory arts-based methods to study belonging. We invited participants to explore the notion of belonging in three parallel workshops drawing on different art forms, film, writing and visual arts.
