INTRODUCING A THEORETIC MODEL AND AN EMPIRIC NORM FOR INFORMATION RISK MANAGEMENT IN DECISION MAKING

2017

Nowadays computer mediated communication (CMC) and the high volume of computed and stored information is getting a business on its own. Information is collected, aggregated, analyzed and used to create real business advantage and value but also risks within companies and also outside on the markets in a high volume. On the other hand, single individuals still need to deal and interpret this sheer mass of increasing information continuously. The change in information management and handling triggers the ongoing changes in decision makings on the operational level as well as on the strategic level. Information is a good sold itself and triggered an own industry of information brokerage. It op…

More is not always better—non-linear effects in crowdfunding

2019

Abstract This research focuses on crowdfunding project features and its relation with the success of this project. The main purpose is to improve probability of success of crowdfunding projects. One can argue that “more is always better” resulting in attempts of daily updates. Contrarily, backers may be weary of numerous updates to work through, indicating a possible wear-out effect, implying the existence of an optimal level of updates. Our preliminary results show that previous research, built upon linear modeling, widely ignores important aspects of the relationship between key variables. We therefore picked six key variables that were previously marked as success drivers in crowdfunding…

2014

Wprowadzenie do przedsiębiorstwa koncepcji społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu (CSR, Corporate Social Responsibility) jest szczególnie istotne w wypadku firm należących do sektora małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw (sektor MŚP).

Internal Communication System Analysis in a Small Company

2017

[EN] The aim of this paper is to analyze the internal communication system in a small company. We used structured interviews in all hierarchical levels to compare the perceptive differences and the way of using the communication tools. A total of five one-hour interview sessions were made to evaluate the involved variables in every communicative tool appointed byor-ganization members. The results showed some contradictions between the respondentsand a low horizontal and descending communication caused by the limited use of these commu-nication tools. Finally, suggestions for improvements to prevent problems and enhance their positive effects were informed.

INFLUENCIA DE LA TEORÍA DE IMPRESSION MANAGEMENT EN LOS COMPORTAMIENTOS QUE AFECTAN A LA RELACIÓN ENTRE PERSONAS Y ORGANIZACIONES / The influence of …

2013

Trata fina…

Farm Entrepreneurs’ Intentions to Develop Pluriactive Business Activities in Finland

2015

We contribute to the entrepreneurial intentions literature by applying the theory of planned behaviour and resource-based views to the model of active entrepreneurs’ intention to develop their pluriactive businesses. Using our 2012 survey data from farm firms in Finland, we address the limited focus on active entrepreneurs and their intentions to develop on-going income-generating, off-farm related business activities. We found that attitudinal proxy antecedents such as innovation, cooperation and growth for pluriactivity differ for active and non-active entrepreneurs and with respect to the entrepreneurs’ age and production line and innovation behaviour. Synthesis of 6,12-Disubstituted Methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]dioxocins : Pyrrolidine Catalyzed Self-Condensation of 2′-Hydroxyacetophenones

2019

The preparation of unprecedented 6,12-disubstituted methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]dioxocins from pyrrolidine catalyzed self-condensation of 2′-hydroxyacetophenones is herein described. This method provides easy access to this highly bridged complex core, resulting in construction of two C–O and two C–C bonds, a methylene bridge and two quaternary centers in a single step. The intricate methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]dioxocin compounds were obtained in up to moderate yields after optimization of the reaction conditions concerning solvent, reaction times and the use of additives. Several halide substituted methanodibenzo[b,f][1,5]dioxocins could be prepared from correspondent 2′-hydroxyacetophenones.

Menopausal Status and Physical Activity Are Independently Associated With Cardiovascular Risk Factors of Healthy Middle-Aged Women: Cross-Sectional a…

2019

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the primary cause of mortality in women in developed countries. CVD risk rises with age, yet for women there is a rapid increase in CVD risk that occurs after the onset of menopause. This observation suggests the presence of factors in the middle-aged women that accelerate the progression of CVD independent of chronological aging. Leisure time physical activity (LTPA) is a well-established protective factor against CVD. However, its role in attenuating atherogenic lipid profile changes and CVD risk in post-menopausal women has not been well-established. The present study is part of the Estrogenic Regulation of Muscle Apoptosis (ERMA) study, a population-based…
