Secoiridoids and Iridoids from Morinda asteroscepa

The new 2,3-secoiridoids morisecoiridoic acids A (1) and B (2), the new iridoid 8-acetoxyepishanzilactone (3), and four additional known iridoids (4–7) were isolated from the leaf and stem bark methanol extracts of Morinda asteroscepa using chromatographic methods. The structure of shanzilactone (4) was revised. The purified metabolites were identified using NMR spectroscopic and mass spectrometric techniques, with the absolute configuration of 1 having been established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. This study focuses on attention and hyperactivity regulation of children in band playing and mobile music making. The study aims at finding the musical and social elements that help children to regulate their attention, and lead to positive social interaction. Within the mobile music making, stand-alone playing and pair work scenarios are analysed. Within the band playing, instructed and improvised playing are compared. This research is a multiple case study with four participants: two children with ADHD and two comparison children without ADHD. Previous empirical research has pointed out that Nordic countries are distinguished from the rest of Europe in terms of job quality. On the other hand, it has been debated whether, in the longer run, the Nordic welfare state is able to insulate workers from globalization effects. This article investigates whether Nordic countries have retained their advantageous position concerning job quality compared with other EU countries. Empirical analyses are based on the European Working Conditions Survey collected in 1995, 2000, 2005, and 2010.  AFinLA’s research network for Speech and Spoken Language Research was established in 2014. This is the first thematic publication from the network. This introductory article introduces and classifies the other articles in this collection. In addition, we examine earlier AFinLA publications from the preceding four decades and evaluate the extent of pronunciation or spoken language research in AFinLA’s publication series.
