Syntheses of polyfunctionalized resveratrol derivatives using Wittig and Heck protocols

Improved protocols for Wittig reaction and palladium-catalyzed Heck coupling give expedient access to a series of unprecedented polyfunctionalized artificial-resveratrol derivatives. In the modified Wittig protocol, trimethylsilyl was used as a highly valuable protective group of the phenolic functions of starting aromatic materials. A clean O-alkylation of hydroxylated stilbenes with ethylene carbonate was also conducted. Thus, Wittig reaction followed by hydroxyethylation take place one-pot with only carbon dioxide as waste. Templating effect of carbon nanoforms on highly cross-linked imidazolium network: Catalytic activity of the resulting hybrids with Pd nanoparticles

Two different carbon nanoforms (CNFs), namely multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and carbon nanohorns (CNHs), have been chosen as support for the direct polymerization of a bis-vinylimidazolium salt. Transmission electron microscopy analyses revealed a templating effect of the CNFs on the growth of the polymeric network, which perfectly covers their whole surfaces creating a cylindrical or spherical coating for MWCNTs and CNHs, respectively. International audience; This paper adresses the problem of color constancy on a large image database acquired with varying digital cameras and lighting conditions. Automatic white balance control proposed by an available commercial camera is not sufficient to provide reproducible color classification. A device-independent color representation may be obtained by applying a chromatic adaptation transform, from a calibrated color checker pattern included in the field of view. Herein we report the studies of Heck alkynylation (copper-free Sonogashira) with aryl halides (I, Br, Cl) employing various metallic precursors, tertiary phosphanes and bases in [BMIM][BF4] as the solvent. As a result, we provide the first method that allows the coupling of a large array of substrates, either activated or deactivated bromides in an ionic liquid. Abstract Objective To study the prevalence and clinical characteristics of Somatic Symptom Disorder (SSD), Bodily Distress Syndrome (BDS) and fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and their overlap in the general German population. Methods A cross-sectional nationally representative population survey was performed. 2531 participants (mean age 48.8 ± 17.85 years, 53.3% women) completed the Somatic Symptom Scale SSS-8, the Bodily Distress Syndrome (BDS) 25 checklist, the Whiteley Index 7 (WI-7), the self-administered comorbidity questionnaire and the Michigan Body Map. Scope Resveratrol may function as a chemopreventive agent. A recent clinical study demonstrates a reduction in tumor cell proliferation in colorectal patients receiving repeated oral ingestion of resveratrol. However, gaps remain in our knowledge of the molecular mechanisms by which resveratrol exerts its chemopreventive effect. We have previously demonstrated that resveratrol induces apoptosis in colon cancer cells and that resveratrol can sensitize chemoresistant colon cancer cells to various drugs.
