Does global warming reduce the freezing injury risk to temperate climate crops? Winter crop response to a temperature increase is complex. Recent works point out, for cold climate vegetation, a paradoxical increase in freezing injury in a warming climate. Complementary works are needed to support these results for winter crops in temperate areas. To achieve this goal, five climatic records spanning a fifty years-long period for both daily minimum and maximum temperatures were analyzed with a model predicting frost hardiness and freezing damage for the winter pea crop. La relation ENSO - précipitations d'hiver est analysée à partir de 682 pluviomètres sur la période 1950-1999. Le cumul saisonnier mai-juillet (MJJ) est corrélé positivement et significativement à l'ENSO depuis la rupture climatique de 1976/1977. Three randomized controlled trials showed the protective role of circumcision in heterosexual HIV transmission. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Joint United Nations Program on AIDS (UNAIDS) recommend that voluntary male medical circumcision (VMMC) programs should be rolled-out wherever there is a generalized HIV epidemic and few men are circumcised. WHO recommends a prevalence rate of at least 80% male circumcision in adults to have a substantial impact on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Eastern and Southern Africa.
