Aim. Cardiac arrhythmias comprise a major health and economic burden and are associated with significant morbidity and mortality, including cardiac failure, stroke and sudden cardiac death (SCD). Development of efficient preventive and therapeutic strategies is hampered by incomplete knowledge of disease mechanisms and pathways. Flecainide base is pharmaceutically active substance used for production of flecainide acetate which is known in market as Tambacor, Almarytm, Apocard, Ecrinal or Flecaine. It is determined that flecainide base forms four polymorphic forms abbreviated as Ib, IIb, IIIb and IVb. Flecainide base form Ib is thermodynamically stable form at laboratory temperature while form IIIb is stable at higher temperatures. Flecainide form Ib absorbs water in its structure between layers and forms non-stoichiometric hydrate. Flecainide base binds with organic solvents and form monosolvates. Assessing fat-tailed sequential forecast distributions for the Dow-Jones index with logarithmic scoring rules

We use the logarithmic scoring rule for distributions to assess a variety of fat-tailed sequential forecasting distributions for the Dow-Jones industrial stock index from 1980 to the present. The methodology applies Bruno de Finetti''s contributions to understanding how to compare the quality of different coherent forecasting distributions for the same sequence of observations, using proper scoring rules. Carrier transport mechanism in the SnO(2):F/p-type a-Si:H heterojunction

We characterize SnO(2):F/p-type a-Si:H/Mo structures by current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements at different temperatures to determine the transport mechanism in the SnO2:F/p-type a-Si:H heterojunction. The experimental I-V curves of these structures, almost symmetric around the origin, are ohmic for vertical bar V vertical bar< 0:1 V and have a super-linear behavior (power law) for vertical bar V vertical bar < 0:1 V. The structure can be modeled as two diodes back to back connected so that the main current transport mechanisms are due to the reverse current of the diodes. Relationships of young adults with foster care backgrounds : tensions and management strategies

The present study focuses on experiences of relational tensions and management strategies in family relationships among 18 young adults with foster care backgrounds who participated in interviews. In the analysis drawing from relational dialectics, three main tensions were revealed in the participants' relationships with birth and foster family members or in their romantic relationships: the dialectics of emotional distance‐closeness, integration‐separation and sameness‐otherness. In addition, the tension of the childhood dialectic of responsibility was identified in this study. The tensions were managed utilizing eight strategies. n this article I propose to point out some important affinities between Carl Schmitt and Augusto Del Noce. These two important catholic thinkers understood the profound relationship between atheism and technique. This topic is very interesting to understand the "spiritual" genesis of the "affluent society" and, above all, to understand an important aspect that has led to the affirmation of the ideology of neoliberalism. These topics are fundamental to current catholic philosophical thought, which after Vatican CouncilII has to confront Modernity.
