Ion diffusion-controlled thermally stimulated processes in x-ray irradiated halide crystals
2003
The ionic and ion diffusion-controlled thermally stimulated relaxation (TSR) processes in CaF2, BaF2, LiBaF3 and KBr crystals were investigated above 290 K by means of the ionic conductivity, ionic thermally stimulated depolarisation current (TSDC) and thermal bleaching techniques. Under a DC field the halide crystals store large ionic space charge. We were able to detect in CaF2, BaF2, LiBaF3 and KBr in the extrinsic ionic conductivity region a series of the ionic defect (the interstitial anion and/or anion vacancies - in fluorides; the cation vacancies - in KBr) release stages: 3-6 wide and overlapping ionic TSDC peaks. The correlated data of the ionic TSDC and the F band thermal show tha…
Optical storage in doped microstructures of alkali halides
2002
Peculiarities of colour centres production and their recombination in photostimulated processes in doped alkali halide microstructures were examined in connection with their practical use as active photostimulable media in miniaturised optoelectronic and photonic devices. The specific interaction of unrelaxed H-centres and electrons with the dopants in different valence and electronic states open a way for widening the scope of multifunctional (logical and mathematical) optical data processing and transfer.
Polymer/Perovskite Amplifying Waveguides for Active Hybrid Silicon Photonics
2015
The emission properties of hybrid halide perovskites are exploited to implement a stable and very low power operation waveguide optical amplifier integrated in a silicon platform. By optimizing its design with a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) encapsulation, this novel photonic device presents a net gain of around 10 dB cm−1 and 3–4 nm linewidth with an energy threshold as low as 2 nJ pulse−1 and exhibiting no degradation after one year. This work was supported by Generalitat Valenciana (Project No. ISIC/2012/008), the Universitat Jaume I (Project No. 12I361.01/1), Spanish MINECO (Projects Nos. MAT2013-47192-C3-1-R and TEC2014-53727-C2-1-R) and EU-NAVOLCHI (Project No. 288869).

Der austausch des cyclopentadienylliganden im methylcyclopentadienyl-mangantricarbonyl
1981
Abstract The exchange of the cyclopentadienyl ring in methylcyclopentadienylmanganese(I) tricarbonyl by methy-substituted benzenes in the presence of aluminium halide leads to [arene-Mn(CO) 3 ] + -ions. The reaction conditions have been optimised; in addition to the yield the purity of the complexes has been determined in some detail. After mild decomposition the arenes were analysed by GLC. Pure [arene-Mn(CO) 3 ] + -ions can be isolated with benzene, toluene, m - and o -xylene.
Palladium-Catalysed Intermolecular Direct C–H Bond Arylation of Heteroarenes with Reagents Alternative to Aryl Halides: Current State of the Art
2022
Abstract: This unprecedented review with 322 references provides a critical up-to-date picture of the Pd-catalysed intermolecular direct C–H bond arylation of heteroarenes with arylating reagents alternative to aryl halides that include aryl sulfonates (aryl triflates, tosylates, mesylates, and imidazole-1-sulfonates), diaryliodonium salts, [(diacetoxy)iodo]arenes, arenediazonium salts, 1-aryltriazenes, arylhydrazines and N’-arylhydrazides, arenesulfonyl chlorides, sodium arenesulfinates, arenesulfinic acids, and arenesulfonohydrazides. Particular attention has been paid to summarise the preparation of the various arylating reagents and to highlight the practicality, versatility, and limit…
Anion–π Interactions in Salts with Polyhalide Anions: Trapping of I 4 2−
2010
The directionality of interaction of electron-deficient π systems with spherical anions (e.g,. halides) can be controlled by secondary effects like NH or CH hydrogen bonding. In this study a series of pentafluorophenyl-substituted salts with polyhalide anions is investigated. The compounds are obtained by aerobic oxidation of the corresponding halide upon crystallization. Solid-state structures reveal that in bromide 2, directing NH-anion interactions position the bromide ion in an η(1)-type fashion over but not in the center of the aromatic ring. The same directing forces are effective in corresponding tribromide salt 3. In the crystal, the bromide ion is paneled by four electron-deficient…
Organometallic nucleophiles.A mechanistic study of halide displacement at saturated carbon by 2- and 4-pyridyl complexes of palladium (II) and platin…
1996
Abstract The reactions of the 2- and 4-pyridyl complexes [MX(C 5 H 4 N C n )(dppe)] and trans -[MX(C 5 H 4 N C n )(PPh 3 ) 2 ] (M Pd, Pt; X Cl, Br; n = 2, 4)- involving halide displacement from the organic halides XCH 2 R (X Cl, Br; R CN, Ph, CH CH 2 ) by the pyridyl nitrogen have been studied kinetically by conductivity in acetone or acetonitrile at 25°C. The kinetic data fit the second-order rate law rate k 2 [XCH 2 R][complex], in agreement with an S N 2 process at saturated carbon. The higher rates are displayed by the 2-pyridylplatinum derivatives with X Br in both the metal complex and the organic halide. The higher nucleophilic power of the 2-pyridyl complexes compare…
Dielectric properties of solutions of antimony (III) halides in methanol
1993
The complex permittivities obtained by time domain reflectometry (TDR) measurements in the frequency range 0.1–15 GHz are reported for solutions of SbF3, SbCl3 and SbBr3 in methanol at 25°C. By increasing the concentration of the solutes, a marked increase of the main relaxation time and of the static permittivity of methanol is observed. These effects have been attributed to the ability of antimony (III) halides to strengthen the hydrogen bonding in methanol and to promote the shift of the dynamic equilibria among the various populations of hydrogen bonded methanol aggregates toward those characterized by a parallel orientation of neighboring dipoles. A second relaxation, occurring at low …
Ferroelastic phase transitions of alkali halide-alkali cyanide mixed crystals
1990
Abstract The alkali cyanides and their CN-rich mixtures with alkali halides are proper ferroelastics with transitions from the cubic high temperature phase into the various non-cubic low temperature phases. As the CN concentration is reduced, the transformations temperature decreases and eventually the ferroelastic low temperature state is suppresse in favour of a glass-like state. The structural and elastic properties of these compounds are discussed with a special emphasis on the martensitic aspect of the transitions.
