This articles discusses what actions were undertaken to commemorate the first president in the Polish history. Gabriel Narutowicz was elected the President in December 1922 and assassinated by a political fanatic just a few days later, on the second day of holding the office. The death of the chief of state was a climax of fierce political war fought on the Polish political arena in 1922. Right after his assassination for some communities in the Second Polish Republic President Narutowicz became a symbolic victim of Polish national fanaticism, as left-wing formations used him as a tool to fight with right-wing groups in Poland. Die Glockenbecherkultur im mediterranen Südfrankreich : ein historisches InterpretationsmodellIm Folgenden werden einige Teilergebnisse aus einer Dissertation vorgestellt, die im März 2002 an der Universität Aix-en-Provence vorgelegt wurde (Lemercier 2002). In dieser Arbeit wurden sämtliche Glockenbecher-Elemente (1200 verzierte Gefässe bzw. Gefässfragmente) aus über 300 südostfranzösischen Fundstellen mit annähernd berücksichtigt. Diese Untersuchung bestätigt das Vorhandensein von vier Stilgruppen und die Gültigkeit der von J. Guilaine auf der Basis der verzierten Keramik vorgeschlagenen Chronologie weitgehend. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izanalizēt ASV vēstures reprezentāciju Čanga-reja Lī vēsturiskajā romānā Nodotie no transnacionālā viedokļa. Pētījuma mērķa sasniegšanai, tiek izmantotas tādas metodes kā žanra un teksta analīze, akcentējot uzmanību uz romāna tēmām un varoņiem, kā arī izmantojot transnacionālo pieeju konteksta interpretācijai. Empīriskajā daļā tiek apspriests kāpēc Nodotie pieder pie vēsturiskā romāna žanra. Turklāt, galveno varoņu traumatisko pieredžu un likteņu krustošanās nozīme romānā. Analizējot tiek noskaidrota romāna pozīcija Āzijas amerikāņu literatūrā, kā arī kādā veidā tā veicina ASV vēstures pārskatīšanu.

The proposed principle for understanding the urban fabric is based on considering the town as a set of complex objects, taking a systemic approach. The town system used to study the urban fabric over large time spans is composed of three sub-systems relating to historical objects from the level of the excavation to that of the former urban space: function (social use), space (location, surface area and morphology) and time (dating, duration and chronology). Kanādas pirmiedzīvotāju sieviešu vēsturiskās traumas attēlojums mūsdienu filmās

Vēsturiskā trauma ir izvirzīta kā viena no galvenajām teorijām, lai atspoguļotu pagātnes notikumu un mūsdienu traumu daudzslāņaino apvienojumu. Darba mērķis ir analizēt Kanādas pirmiedzīvotāju sieviešu vēsturiskās traumas attēlojumu mūsdienu kinematogrāfijā. Par divām pētījuma metodēm izvēlēta salīdzinošā analīze un filmu traumu teorija. Tika secināts, ka visās trīs izvēlētajās filmās tika atspoguļotas šādas tēmas: negatīva ģimenes dinamika, grūtības esot mātes lomā, neobjektīva attieksme no policijas un sociālo dienestu puses, spēcīga kopienas sajūta un īpaša izcelta pirmiedzīvotāju noturība. Re-thinking Nicholas J. Spykman : from historical sociology to balance of power

This article examines Nicholas J. Spykman’s scholarship beyond geopolitics and International Relations (IR). Because his works have mainly been studied through these prisms, I argue that we have overlooked the most important underlying current of his work: historical sociology. As a result, the prevailing view of him is overtly narrow. When Spykman’s scholarly output is examined from the 1920s to 1940s, an entirely different view of Spykman emerges. Essentially, his fundamental understanding of world affairs derived from the German sociologist Georg Simmel’s theories. Narrative inquiry and historical skills. A study in teacher training

This paper addresses narrative thinking and literacy levels in future primary school teachers in Spain. It uses the study of a historical synthesis of one of the main narratives in Spanish history: the Christian expansion through Muslim territories in the Iberian Peninsula in the Middle Ages. Accounts by 283 students of the degree in elementary school teaching at the universities of Valencia and Murcia were studied. The aim was to ascertain the students' discursive abilities with respect to their historical thinking skills. The results reveal poor narrative skills in future teachers and a very low level of historical literacy.
