A pigmented papule acting like a playful ghost: dermoscopy of three targetoid hemosiderotic hemangiomas

2018

Targetoid hemosiderotic hemangioma represents an uncommon, distinctive, benign lympho-vascular lesion, with a variable clinical appearance, typically occurs in the lower limbs and trunk. Most patients are in their 20's or 30's. We describe three dermoscopic cases followed by the review of the literature. Dermoscopic images have been collected and have been evaluated for the presence of dermoscopic features. Concerning the review, we researched on pubmed and records were reviewed noting patient age of onset, sex, location, overall size, dermoscopic appearance. The harmonic mean age of patients was 31 years; the female-to-male ratio was 1:1, and the most common locations were lower extremitie…

Children’s Diet during the Early Stages of the Nutritional Transition. The Foundlings in the Hospital of Valencia (Spain), 1852–1931

2021

The nutritional transition brought about profound changes in the nutrition of the European population in the 19th and 20th centuries. The predominant consumption of cereals gave way to kilocalorie-, protein-, vitamin- and mineral-rich diets that involved a greater intake of animal products. However, not all population groups underwent this transition at the same pace

Bifurcations of Links of Periodic Orbits in Non-Singular Systems with Two Rotational Symmetries on S3

1997

A topological characterization of all possible links composed of the periodic orbits of a Non Singular Morse-Smale flow on S3 has been made by M. Wada. The presence of symmetry forces the appearance of given types of links. In this paper we introduce a geometrical tool to represent these type of links when a symmetry around two axes is considered on NMS systems: mosaics. On the other hand, we use mosaics to study what kind of bifurcation can occur in this type of system maintaining the symmetry.

Computing the ℤ2-Cocharacter of 3 × 3 Matrices of Odd Degree

2013

Let F be a field of characteristic 0 and A = M 2, 1(F) the algebra of 3 × 3 matrices over F endowed with the only non trivial ℤ2-grading. Aver'yanov in [1] determined a set of generators for the T 2-ideal of graded identities of A. Here we study the identities in variables of homogeneous degree 1 via the representation theory of the symmetric group, and we determine the decomposition of the corresponding character into irreducibles.

On the derived category of the Cayley plane II

2014

We find a full strongly exceptional collection for the Cayley plane OP2, the simplest rational homogeneous space of the exceptional group E6. This collection, closely related to the one given by the second author in [J. Algebra, 330:177-187, 2011], consists of 27 vector bundles which are homogeneous for the group E6, and is a Lefschetz collection with respect to the minimal equivariant embedding of OP2.

Generalizing cones over projective toric varieties, we present arbitrary toric varieties as quotients of quasiaffine toric varieties. Such quotient presentations correspond to groups of Weil divisors generating the topology. Groups comprising Cartier divisors define free quotients, whereas ℚ–Cartier divisors define geometric quotients. Each quotient presentation yields homogeneous coordinates. Using homogeneous coordinates, we express quasicoherent sheaves in terms of multigraded modules and describe the set of morphisms into a toric variety.

Symmetries in Spaces, Symmetries in Listening

2018

Based on the importance of the concept of symmetry in French sociological aesthetics circa 1900, this chapter analyzes the convergence of theaters, musical form, and musical understanding. The analysis focuses on architectural shape, audience response, and the musical repertoire in the new theaters built in Barcelona (1847), Paris (1862), and Rome (1880). While these theaters were fashioned after the baroque form of the “teatro all’italiana” that prevailed in Italy, France, and Spain during the late nineteenth century, they provided huge spaces accommodating a socially mixed audience within an architecturally symmetrical form. Music critics often aligned acoustic sound waves with actual vis…

Input of P, N-(phosphanyl, amino)-ferrocene hybrid derivatives in late transition metals catalysis

2018

International audience; Unequally functionalized ferrocenes give access to valuable hemilabile reactivity in catalytic reaction. We address the synthesis of hybrid (P, N)-ferrocenyl compounds for which recent catalytic breakthrough applications have been reported, transversely in late transition metals chemistry. Palladium, nickel, rhodium, iridium, and emerging iron and gold catalysis are illustrated from selected examples, which include CC bond formation from cross-coupling and polymerization, allylic substitution, cyanation, hydroformylation, CH arylation and silylation and hydrogenation reactions.

Palladium-Catalysed Amination of 1,8- and 1,5-Dichloroanthracenes and 1,8- and 1,5-Dichloroanthraquinones

2005

Diamino derivatives of anthracene and anthraquinone have been synthesised by palladium-catalysed coupling of 1,8-dichloroanthracene and 1,8-dichloroanthraquinone with a wide range of aliphatic and aromatic primary and secondary amines. The use of polyamines gave rise to a large number of new nitrogen- and oxygen-containing macrocycles incorporating anthracene or anthraquinone moieties. The method has also been employed for the preparation of bismacrocycles in which two cyclam or azacrown units are linked together by an anthracene bridge through C(sp2)−N bonds. Lipschitz-type conditions on homogeneous Banach spaces of analytic functions

2017

Abstract In this paper we deal with Banach spaces of analytic functions X defined on the unit disk satisfying that R t f ∈ X for any t > 0 and f ∈ X , where R t f ( z ) = f ( e i t z ) . We study the space of functions in X such that ‖ P r ( D f ) ‖ X = O ( ω ( 1 − r ) 1 − r ) , r → 1 − where D f ( z ) = ∑ n = 0 ∞ ( n + 1 ) a n z n and ω is a continuous and non-decreasing weight satisfying certain mild assumptions. The space under consideration is shown to coincide with the subspace of functions in X satisfying any of the following conditions: (a) ‖ R t f − f ‖ X = O ( ω ( t ) ) , (b) ‖ P r f − f ‖ X = O ( ω ( 1 − r ) ) , (c) ‖ Δ n f ‖ X = O ( ω ( 2 − n ) ) , or (d) ‖ f − s n f ‖ X = O ( ω …
