Multi-resolution analysis generated by a seed function
2009
In this paper we use the equivalence result originally proved by the author, which relates a multiresolution analysis (MRA) of ℒ2(R) and an orthonormal set of single electron wave functions in the lowest Landau level, to build up a procedure which produces, starting with a certain square-integrable function, a MRA of ℒ2(R). © 2003 American Institute of Physics.

Adaptive estimation of Laguerre models with time-varying delay
2000
Abstract An Orthonormal Basis Functions (OBF) approach is effectively used in adaptive parameter estimation of linear(ized) open-loop stable, possibly nonminimum phase plants with time-varying delay. In particular, discrete Laguerre models are considered in detail. A special attention is paid to the numerical conditioning issue in case of ’poor’ excitation of a plant under control, where OBF models are of particular value. Closed-loop predictive control simulations confirm the usefulness of adaptive OBF modelling, especially for systems with time-varying delays.
Nationalism and Power behind the Communitarian Premises: a Critique from Habermas’ Cosmopolitanism
2016
In order to endorse political cosmopolitanism we will undertake a critical analysis of the main four premises that support communitarianism: the ontological one, the instrumental one, the ethical one, and the moral-psychological one (1). Then, we warn that communitarianism usually serves as support for nationalist theoretical proposals that just care about the socio-economic interests of their own countries (2). In response to communitarianism, we offer some answers from a cosmopolitan moral approach. However, we conclude that this approach is also insufficient (3). In conclusion, we argue that only a legal and political cosmopolitanism could honor moral universalism (4). Normal 0 21 false …
La Méthode como hermenéutica musical Homenaje a Edgar Morin por su 100º cumpleaños
2021
The present work addresses the principles and properties of the complex thought formulated by the French thinker Edgar Morin and the way in which he was able me to articulate his conception of organizational complexity with one of the most important theories of musical analysis, which emerged at the beginning of the 20th century: the schenkerian analysis. It is a review and extension of a few pages of my doctoral thesis, which are intended to pay tribute to who has been, in addition to my teacher, Honorary President of Itamar since its first issue. His teachings and support has always been the engine for my quest for musical organization. On July 21, 2021, Morin celebrated his 100th birthda…
Parenté et fraternité monastique dans les miracles posthumes de saint Honorat (Vita sancti Honorati, BHL 3976, fin XIIIe siècle)
2008
Kinship and monastic fraternity in the saint Honoratus miracles at the end of the 13th century (Vita sancti Honorati - BHL 3976) - The legendary Life of saint Honoratus, founding abbot of Lerins and archbishop of Arles (BHL 3976), is a long anonymous narrative of the end of the 13th century. The chapters 30-48 gather together 37 posthumous miracles of the saint. These narratives, close to the contemporary exempla, are rich in moral teachings and display the social relationships representations from the monastic fraternity ideal pattern viewpoint. They point out the insertion of the conjugal unit in a large fabric of horizontal relationships converging to Lerins, and the sexual behavioral co…
