Novel Digital Measurement Technique to Analyze the Palatine Suture Expansion after Palatine Rapid Maxillary Expansion Technique

The aim of the study was to validate a novel digital measurement method to quantify the volume of the midpalatal suture after rapid maxillary expansion (RME). Material and methods: Eight patients with maxillary skeletal transverse deficiency were submitted to palatine suture expansion using the McNamara orthodontic appliance during a period of nine months. After 30 days of treatment, all patients were exposed postoperatively to a cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan. Monografía fitosociológica de la vegetación de la Reserva Biológica y del Parque Nacional de Doñana (Huelva, España). En base a la publicación de 461 inventarios y 25 sin inventarios se describen 70 asociaciones pertenecientes a 28 clases de vegetación, así como se dan a conocer cinco sinasociaciones. De cada asociación se aportan datos florísticos, ecológicos, estructurales, corológicos y taxonómicos, y en muchos casos sus relaciones con las asociaciones geovicarias. Además de numerosos esquemas catenales y dinámicos de la vegetación, se incluye una lista de los sintáxones y un catálogo alfabético de las plantas vasculares de Doñana y de las comentadas en el texto. Previous studies have reported that bright ceilings appear higher than dark ceilings, irrespective of the other colorimetric properties of the ceiling color (hue, saturation) and irrespective of the luminance of the remaining room surfaces (walls, floor). In the present study, we expand these findings to width and depth estimates. We presented stereoscopic full-scale room simulations on a head-mounted display and varied the luminance of the side walls, rear wall, and ceiling independently of each other. La revisión de los materiales arqueológicos recuperados en la Cova de la Sarsa nos ha llevado a establecer una serie de propuestas sobre sus diferentes ocupaciones y su funcionalidad. En relación con estos estudios se han seleccionado una serie de muestras para su datación por radiocarbono. Presentamos los resultados de dichas dataciones.
Fingerprints of heavy scales in electroweak effective Lagrangians

The couplings of the electroweak effective theory contain information on the heavy-mass scales which are no-longer present in the low-energy Lagrangian. We build a general effective Lagrangian, implementing the electroweak chiral symmetry breaking $SU(2)_L\otimes SU(2)_R\to SU(2)_{L+R}$, which couples the known particle fields to heavier states with bosonic quantum numbers $J^P=0^\pm$ and $1^\pm$. We consider colour-singlet heavy fields that are in singlet or triplet representations of the electroweak group.
