The Challenge of Mutual Competence Building
2015
Mutual Competence Building has emerged as a key concept when working on this book with our colleagues at the University of Agder. In this conclusion we develop and explore the concept further in relation to sustainability. Our point of departure is the definition we presented in the introduction: mutual competence building is a conversation between scholars and societal and work life partner organisations about what sustainability, and efforts to create a sustainable society, might entail for distinct sectors.

Fostering Positive Changes in Health and Social Relationships in Children
2017
Several studies have demonstrated that altruism and gratitude may confer beneficial effects on psychophysical wellbeing. The present chapter describes how positive changes in health and social relationships can be fostered in 6- to 9-year-old children when participating in positive interventions. The findings show that the experience of working with others to attain shared goals and focusing on gratefulness positively modulated altruism and social interactions among peers, highlighting the great behavioural plasticity of children. Moreover, interventions involving cooperative playing not only increased positive relationships but also contributed to a decrease in chronic stress levels. The p…

The new version of the pictorial scale of Perceived Movement Skill Competence in Spanish children: Evidence of validity and reliability. [La nueva ve…
2019
The purpose of this study was to i) examine reliability and construct validity of the pictorial scale of Perceived Movement Skill Competence (PMSC) aligned to the third version of the Test of Gross Motor Development (TGMD-3) in a sample of Spanish children; and to ii) analyse the validity of the PMSC and children’s perceived motor competence (MC) according to gender. A convenience sample of 361 children (55.7% boys) between 4 and 11 years-old participated. The pictorial scale of PMSC (19 items) was administered (a random subsample repeated the PMSC twice). Test-retest reliability using Intraclass Correlation Coefficients and construct validity using a Bayesian Structural Equation Modeling a…
Transversal Competences for Employment and Profile of Excellent University Students
2014
Abstract The relationship between the field of training -university- and the working environment is absolutely essential. The university must train its students to satisfy the needs of society, to build knowledge and to develop critical thinking but it cannot elude the commitment to prepare competent professionals. It has been applied to the courses in different areas: sciences, engineering and languages. As part of its implementation, activities were proposed that could be done at the beginning, during or at the end of the class to, on the one hand, help students acquire the knowledge associated with the course(s), and on the other, gather evidence that demonstrates acquisition of said competence. The results show a high level of satisfaction by the students with the use of the Socra…
Environmental values and customer-perceived value in industrial supplier relationships
2017
This study addresses a gap in the research on supply channel management by integrating environmental values and value creation in the context of buyer-supplier relationships. This study has two objectives: (i) to explore the environmental values structure of industrial customers, and (ii) to test the effect of environmental values on overall value perceptions. The effect of customer's environmental values on the supplier's environmental image and customer-perceived value is tested with structural equation modeling using the PLS method. The empirical analysis is based on a global sample of industrial companies that have a high impact on the environment (n = 121). Key findings of this study a…
