On X-saturated formations of finite groups

[EN] In the paper, a Frattini-like subgroup associated with a class X of simple groups is introduced and analysed. The corresponding X-saturated formations are exactly the X-local ones introduced by Förster. Our techniques are also very useful to highlight the properties and behaviour of omega-local formations. In fact, extensions and improvements of several results of Shemetkov are natural consequences of our study.

On a class of supersoluble groups

A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be S-semipermutable in G if H permutes with every Sylow q-subgroup of G for all primes q not dividing |H|. A finite group G is an MS-group if the maximal subgroups of all the Sylow subgroups of G are S-semipermutable in G. The aim of the present paper is to characterise the finite MS-groups.

Primitive subgroups and PST-groups

AbstractAll groups considered in this paper are finite. A subgroup $H$ of a group $G$ is called a primitive subgroup if it is a proper subgroup in the intersection of all subgroups of $G$ containing $H$ as a proper subgroup. He et al. [‘A note on primitive subgroups of finite groups’, Commun. Korean Math. Soc. 28(1) (2013), 55–62] proved that every primitive subgroup of $G$ has index a power of a prime if and only if $G/ \Phi (G)$ is a solvable PST-group. Let $\mathfrak{X}$ denote the class of groups $G$ all of whose primitive subgroups have prime power index. It is established here that a group $G$ is a solvable PST-group if and only if every subgroup of $G$ is an $\mathfrak{X}$-group.

Graphs and classes of finite groups

[EN] There are different ways to associate to a finite group a certain graph. An interesting question is to analyse the relations between the structure of the group, given in group-theoretical terms, and the structure of the graph, given in the language of graph theory. This survey paper presents some contributions to this research line.

Phenotypic and genotypic evaluation of slime production by conventional and molecular microbiological techniques.

Twenty-nine staphylococcal isolates from different clinical samples were tested for slime production: phenotypic characterization was carried out using Christensen test (tube test) and Congo red agar plate test (CRA plate test), while the presence and expression of icaA and icaD genes were evaluated by real-time PCR. In 79.3% of studied strains there was a concordance between slime production and presence of icaA and icaD genes, and between lack of slime production and absence of both or only one of the tested genes. Combate tecnificado, distorsión de la percepción, testimonio y memoria fotográfica en la Gran Guerra

Mi propósito es considerar cómo el combate tecnificado afectó la percepción que de él tuvieron principalmente los combatientes de tierra, que fueron la inmensa mayoría de los que lucharon. Pues esa percepción, como veremos distorsionada, configuró una parte fundamental de su experiencia de la contienda, en el bien entendido que la experiencia de la guerra no se reduce ni al combate ni a su percepción. Pero en aquella guerra todavía –respecto a las actuales cabrían muchos matices- el combate fue el centro o foco de la misma aun teniendo en cuenta sus múltiples aspectos y dimensiones. A la vez, también quiero argumentar que la forma que adoptó ese combate, y cómo se percibió, tuvo sus efectos…

On finite products of groups and supersolubility

2010

Two subgroups X and Y of a group G are said to be conditionally permutable in G if X permutes with Y(g) for some element g E G. i.e., XY(g) is a subgroup of G. Using this permutability property new criteria for the product of finite supersoluble groups to be supersoluble are obtained and previous results are recovered. Also the behaviour of the supersoluble residual in products of finite groups is studied.

On conditional permutability and saturated formations

Two subgroups A and B of a group G are said to be totally completely conditionally permutable (tcc-permutable) in G if X permutes with Yg for some g ¿ ¿X, Y¿ for all X ¿ A and Y ¿ B. We study the belonging of a finite product of tcc-permutable subgroups to a saturated formation of soluble groups containing all finite supersoluble groups. © 2011 Edinburgh Mathematical Society.

[EN] In this paper the subnormal subgroup closed saturated formations of finite soluble groups containing nilpotent groups are fully characterised by means of extensions of well-known properties enjoyed by the formation of all nilpotent groups.
