Docking and synthesis of pyrrolopyrimidodiazepinone derivatives (PPDs) and their precursors: New scaffolds for DNA-interacting agents

New classes of pyrrolopyrimidodiazepinone derivatives (PPDs) and their precursors were studied in silico for their ability to form stable complex with DNA fragment. In the docking studies two binding modes can be envisaged: groove mode and intercalating mode. In the case of the best ligands the docking studies revealed a common binding mode with the chromophore intercalated between GC base pairs whereas the side chain lies close to the minor groove. Synthetic approach to the PPD ring systems is discussed.

Enniatin B (ENN B), deoxinivalenol (DON) and alternariol (AOH) are secondary metabolites of filamentous fungi. These mycotoxins are contaminants of vegetables and cereals. They are cytotoxic and their effects are enhanced by their mixtures. The objectives of this study were to compare the cytotoxicity of ENN B, DON and AOH alone or in combination in human adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cells and to evaluate the type of interactions of mycotoxin mixtures by the isobologram analysis. Modelling of the cation motions in complex system: case of Na-mordenites

Abstract Semi-empirical inter-atomic potentials and Monte Carlo algorithms are proposed to predict the evolution of the interaction energy between sodium ions and a mordenite type aluminosilicate network as a function of Si/Al ratio. This result is favourably compared with the activation energy barriers for Na + `jumps' responsible for the polarization change, measured by thermally stimulated current (TSC) spectroscopy, for Na-mordenites characterized by Si/Al ratios ranged from 5.5 to 12. Finally, we propose a possible mechanism for the cation motions, which involves activation barriers within the same order of magnitude than those measured by TSC.
Anharmonic vibrational frequency calculations for solvated molecules in the B3LYP Kohn–Sham basis set limit

Abstract The solvent dependence of harmonic and anharmonic vibrational wavenumbers of water, formaldehyde and formamide was studied using the B3LYP method. The results obtained with the hierarchy of Jensen's polarization-consistent basis sets were fitted with two-parameter formula toward the B3LYP Kohn–Sham complete basis set (CBS) limit. Anharmonic corrections have been obtained by a second order perturbation treatment (VPT2) and vibrational configuration interaction (VCI) method. The solvent environment was treated according to the self-consistent reaction field polarizable continuum model (SCRF PCM) approach.

With the goal of using chiral interactions at various orders to explore properties of the few-body nuclear systems, we write the recently developed local chiral interactions as spherical irreducible tensors and implement them in the hyperspherical harmonics expansion method. We devote particular attention to three-body forces at next-to-next-to leading order, which play an important role in reproducing experimental data.
