Glycoprotein and ganglioside changes in human trophoblasts after exposure to pulsed doppler ultrasound

Changes in glycoprotein and ganglioside composition in human trophoblasts (eighth week of gestation) after in vitro exposure to pulsed Doppler ultrasound (pulse duration 1.22 microseconds; repetition frequency 11.1 kHz; center frequency 4 MHz; ISPPA = 175.5 W/cm2; ISPTA = 0.59 W/cm2) were investigated. Evacuated trophoblasts were divided in two halves and insonated for 10 min on top of a 6-cm layer of 5% gelatin in 50-mL tubes (Falcon) at 37 degrees C. Preparation and Promotion of Fruit Growth in Kiwifruit of Fluorinated N-Phenyl-N‘-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-yl Ureas

Seventeen phenyl-fluorinated analogues of thidiazuron [N-phenyl-N'-(1,2,3-thiadiazol-5-yl)urea, TDZ] have been prepared and characterized. The effects of each fluorinated urea on growth and quality of kiwifruits (Actinidia deliciosa) were evaluated by comparison with untreated (control) and TDZ-treated fruits. The results obtained showed a clear dependence of the growth-promoting activity of these fluorinated ureas on the pattern and degree of fluorine substitution in the phenyl ring. L'absorption racinaire, la subdivision, la conservation, et la redistribution de l'azote au niveau des racines ont ete etudiees sur des jeunes plantes de kiwi cv « Hayward », portant des fruits et cultives en pots. Deux rations de nitrate d'ammonium enrichi en 15 N [3,3 g (LN) et 10,0 g (HN) N par plante] ont ete distribuees 1 mois avant la recolte des fruits. Les fruits de kiwi ont absorbe 44-68 % du 1 5 N fourni a l'automne, qui a ete stocke principalement dans le systeme racinaire (61 %). The interest of fruit breeders in haploids and doubled haploids (DH), lies in the possibility of shortening the time needed to produce homozygous lines compared to conventional breeding. Haplo-diploidization through gametic embryogenesis allows single-step development of complete homozygous lines from heterozygous parents. In a conventional breeding programme, a pure line is developed after several generations of selfing. A short and practical synthesis for preparing the active pharmaceutical ingredient dolutegravir sodium was investigated. The convergent strategy developed herein starts from 3-(R)-amino-1- butanol and builds up the BC ring system in 76% isolated yield over four steps. Ring A was constructed by a one-pot 1,4-addition to diethyl-(2E/Z)-2-(ethoxymethylidene)-3-oxobutandioate and subsequent MgBr2·OEt2-mediated regioselective cyclization. Amide formation with 2,4- difluorobenzylamine was either performed from the carboxylic acid or through aminolysis of the corresponding ester precursor.
