Pētījuma darba galvenais mērķis ir analizēt dažāda smaguma hipoglikēmiju biežumu pirmā tipa cukura diabēta pacientiem un salīdzināt to ar diabēta metabolo kompensāciju. Materiāli un metodes: pētījumā tika analizētas „Latvijas Universitātes Medicīniskās pēcdiploma izglītības institūta” Dr.med. Kristīnes Ducenas pacientu ambulatorās kartes. Tika analizēti pacientu dati ar apstiprinātu diagnozi – pirmā tipa cukura diabēts. Atsevišķi tika apstrādāti dati par pacienta dzimumu, vecumu, cukura diabēta ilgumu (gados), HbA1C līmeni un citām autoimūnām blakussaslimšanām. Metformīns ir medikaments, kurš tiek plaši izmantots 2.tipa cukura diabēta (T2D) ārstēšanā un kura lietošanas laikā būtiski izmainās cilvēka zarnu mikrobioma baktēriju daudzveidība. Bakalaura darba mērķis bija raksturot ar metformīna īstermiņa terapiju asociētās taksonomiskās kompozīcijas izmaiņas zarnu mikrobiomā jaundiagnosticētiem T2D pacientiem. No 23 iesaistīto T2D pacientu fēču paraugiem tikai izdalīta mikrobiālā DNS, veikta mazās ribosomālās subvienības gēna (16S rRNS) V3 reģiona taksonomiskās kompozīcijas analīze ar lielapjoma paralēlo sekvenēšanu. Biotic oxidation of methane in landfills in boreal climatic conditions

This study focused on the biotic oxidation of methane in landfill covers as a technology for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from landfills, particularly those located in the boreal climatic zone. First, methane oxidation was studied in laboratory batch assays in a landfill cover soil consisting of a composted mixture of sewage sludge and chemical sludge which had been installed on the landfill surface 4-5 years earlier. However, potential incoherencies among these policies can negatively affect the efficient provision of FES. Finnish forests are used extensively for timber production but are also providers of other ecosystem services and harbor unique biodiversity. The ecosystem services approach has so far been used marginally in the context of Finnish forestry; however, due to the multiple values associated with Finnish forests and the impacts forestry operations have on forest ecosystems, it is clearly applicable in this context. Orthogonal switching of AMS axes during type-2 fold interference : Insights from integrated X-ray computed tomography, AMS and 3D petrography

We applied X-ray computed microtomography (μ-CT) in combination with anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility (AMS) analysis to study metamorphic rock fabrics in an oriented drill core sample of pyrite-pyrrhotite-quartz-mica schist. The sample is extracted from the Paleoproterozoic Martimo metasedimentary belt of northern Finland. The μ-CT resolves the spatial distribution, shape and orientation of 25,920 pyrrhotite and 153 pyrite grains localized in mm-thick metapelitic laminae. Together with microstructural analysis, the μ-CT allows us to interpret the prolate symmetry of the AMS ellipsoid and its relationship to the deformation history.
