Deimatic displays, where sudden changes in prey appearance elicit aversive predator reactions, have been suggested to occur in many taxa. These (often only putative) displays frequently involve different components that may also serve antipredator functions via other mechanisms (e.g., mimicry, warning signalling, body inflation). The Colombian four-eyed frog, Pleurodema brachyops, has been suggested to gain protection against predation through putative deimatic displays where they inflate and elevate the posterior part of their body revealing eye-like colour markings. Būdama angļu valodas skolotāja Diplomdarba autore mācību prakses laikā, novērojusi, ka pamatskolas skolotāji saskaras ar izaicinājumiem, kas attiecās uz skolēnu uzvedību mācību stundās , un vēlmi būt aktīviem dalībniekiem valoda apguves aktivitātēs. Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā pozitīvā pastiprinājuma ieviešana angļu valodas stundās palīdz izglītojamajiem uzlabot angļu valodas vārdu krājuma apguvi 7. klasē. Gadījuma izpēte tika veikta vienā no Vidzemes vidusskolām. Datu vākšanas metodes ir studentu anketa, autora veiktie skolotāju žurnāla ieraksti, studentu atsauksme, darba autores un viņas mentores novērojumi. B-doped diamond has become the ultimate material for applications in the field of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), which require both highly wear resistant and electrically conductive diamond films and microstructures. Despite the extensive research of the tribological properties of undoped diamond, to date there is very limited knowledge of the wear properties of highly B-doped diamond. Basque pilota is a traditional sport played mainly by men. A project emerged in 2005 to promote female participation: Emakumea Pilotari (Woman pelota player). In this article we present the main points that emerged from an ethnographic study of the social relationships that playing Basque pilota can provide. The study was carried out in 2011-2012 season with a purposive sample of 28 adult women Basque pilota players (pilotaris) (between 22 and 60 years old). 26 participants were pilotaris in recreational groups and the other two were their trainers.
