Contributions regarding increasing reliability of beer industry installations using weld cladding in ultrasonic field

2016

Paper presents a new technology for availability increasing of different installation parts used in beer industry - ultrasonic activation of metal deposition by welding. The dilution phenomenon is studied linked on its influence upon material technological and functional properties in the three distinct zones of resulted couple (filler material, influenced thermal zone, base material). Experimental results performed on unidirectional valve are presented regarding variation of chemical composition concentration and dilution variation in three zones influenced by ultrasonic wave.

Relaxation for a Class of Control Systems with Unilateral Constraints

2019

We consider a nonlinear control system involving a maximal monotone map and with a priori feedback. We assume that the control constraint multifunction $U(t,x)$ is nonconvex valued and only lsc in the $x \in \mathbb{R}^{N}$ variable. Using the Q-regularization (in the sense of Cesari) of $U(t,\cdot )$, we introduce a relaxed system. We show that this relaxation process is admissible.

A multiplex assay with 52 single nucleotide polymorphisms for human identification.

2006

A total of 52 SNPs reported to be polymorphic in European, Asian and African populations were selected. Of these, 42 were from the distal regions of each autosome (except chromosome 19). Nearly all selected SNPs were located at least 100 kb distant from known genes and commonly used STRs. We established a highly sensitive and reproducible SNP-typing method with amplification of all 52 DNA fragments in one PCR reaction followed by detection of the SNPs with two single base extension reactions analysed using CE. The amplicons ranged from 59 to 115 bp in length. Complete SNP profiles were obtained from 500 pg DNA. The 52 loci were efficiently amplified from degraded samples where previously on…

Laser-Induced Plasma Emission Spectrometric Study of Pigments and Binders in Paper Coatings:  Matrix Effects

1998

Laser-induced plasma emission spectroscopy (LIPS) has been used to study inorganic pigment and organic binder distributions in paper coatings, which are inhomogeneous and porous materials. The plasma was generated by focusing a pulsed XeCl excimer laser beam (diameter 100 μm, irradiance 0.3 GW/cm2) on the sample surface at atmospheric pressure. A gated intensified CCD detector was used to record time-delayed emission spectra. Linear correlations between the LIPS signals and the coat weight and the binder content of the coatings studied were obtained. Emission line intensities from ionic and neutral magnesium atoms were used to evaluate plasma temperature corrections in determining silicon a…

Old and New on the Quasihyperbolic Metric

1998

Let D be a proper subdomain of \( {\mathbb{R}^d}\). Following Gehring and Palka [GP] we define the quasihyperbolic distance between a pair x 1, x 2 of points in D as the infimum of \( {\smallint _\gamma }\frac{{ds}}{{D\left( {x,\partial D} \right)}}\) over all rectifiable curves γ joining x 1, x 2 in D. We denote the quasihyperbolic distance between x 1, x 2 by k D (x 1, x 2). As pointed out by Gehring and Osgood [GO], x 1 and x 2 can be joined by a quasihyperbolic geodesic; also see [Mr]. The quasihyperbolic metric is comparable to the usual hyperbolic metric in a simply connected plane domain by the Koebe distortion theorem. For a multiply connected plane domain D these two metrics are co…

On Certain Metrizable Locally Convex Spaces

1986

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses on certain metrizable locally convex spaces. The linear spaces used are defined over the field IK of real or complex numbers. The word "space" will mean "Hausdorff locally convex space". This chapter presents a proposition which states if U be a neighborhood of the origin in a space E. If A is a barrel in E which is not a neighborhood of the origin and F is a closed subspace of finite codimension in E’ [σ(E’,E)], then U° ∩ F does not contain A° ∩ F. Suppose that U° ∩ F contain A° ∩ F. Then A° ∩ F is equicontinuous hence W is also equicontinuous. Since W° is contained in A, it follows that A is a neighborhood of the origin, a contradiction.

Imparare ad abitare il mondo. Senso e metodo della relazione educativa

2015

Lexical competition in phonological priming: Assessing the role of phonological match and mismatch lengths between primes and targets

2003

In five experiments, we examined lexical competition effects using the phonological priming paradigm in a shadowing task. Experiments 1A and 1B replicate and extend Slowiaczek and Hamburger's (1992) observation that inhibitory effects occur when the prime and the target share the first three phonemes (e.g., /bRiz/-/bRik/) but not when they share the first two phonemes (e.g., /bRepsilonz/-/bRik/). This observation suggests that lexical competition depends on the length of the phonological match between the prime and the target. However, Experiment 2 revealed that an overlap of two phonemes is sufficient to cause an inhibitory effect provided that the primes mismatched the targets only on the…
