Inland harbours in Central Europe:: Junctions between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean Sea
2016
The international symposium organized in Dijon offers a structural and diachronic comparative analysis of the harbours networks on inland waterbodies. Its goals are the study of the harbours settled on lakes or rivers as a complex phenomenon, and the assessment of their respective significance as hubs in the communication and exchange network between Mediterranean Sea and Northern Europe. These two days gather German, French and European researchers from the different fields required on such a research problem (history, archaeology, geography, palaeoenvironmental analysis, geomatics), in the aim to present recent discoveries and results. The present book contains the 27 abstracts in three lang…
2011
The starting point of this research is the question, may reading acquisition be more or less effective depending on the language in which it is perform? Two categories for classifying the languages have been developed. First the notion of linguistic family is employed to describe the languages from a cultural and historical perspective. Secondly, the notion of orthographic depth is used for differentiating the languages according to the correspondence between orthography and phonetic. These categories have been related to the databases PIRLS 2001 and 2006 (international assessments about reading developed by the IEA), the aim being to connect reading achievement to the language in which stu…

I 'Contes de la nuit': dal 'Maitre de la parole' all'écrivain
2015
Trajectory Statistics of Confined L\'evy Flights and Boltzmann-type Equilibria
2013
We analyze a specific class of random systems that are driven by a symmetric L\'{e}vy stable noise, where Langevin representation is absent. In view of the L\'{e}vy noise sensitivity to environmental inhomogeneities, the pertinent random motion asymptotically sets down at the Boltzmann-type equilibrium, represented by a probability density function (pdf) $\rho_*(x) \sim \exp [-\Phi (x)]$. Here, we infer pdf $\rho (x,t)$ based on numerical path-wise simulation of the underlying jump-type process. A priori given data are jump transition rates entering the master equation for $\rho (x,t)$ and its target pdf $\rho_*(x)$. To simulate the above processes, we construct a suitable modification of t…
Tools for education : policy analysis
2003

Education specialist in the developed world will also find this guide to be an invaluable tool for analyzing priorities and arriving at cost-effective solutions. The out-growth of training workshops held at the World Bank, this book and CD-ROM present relevant policy problems and engage the user in a search for effective education-service delivery o…
