This article develops the concept of “immunitarian fiction” taking as paradigmatic examples epidemics and zombie narratives, which share the idea of contagion as the main matrix of their narrative. The article tries to address the following question: in what way do these fictions, and other similar ones, participate in the imaginary of immunity and, at the same time, show some of their internal contradictions? For this, the text reflects on a set of cultural products of mass diffusion (novels, television series, cinematographic works). During the period 1995-1999, the Sala Parpalló was located in the Beneficència Cultural Center of Valencia, sharing the place with the spaces of the Museum of Prehistory, the Museum of Ethnology and the IVEI. In the investigation it exposed a technical file for each of the 57 self-produced exhibitions carried out in the period and a selection of the studies that accompanied them: the files are displayed chronologically according to the procedures used. In Path Integral Monte Carlo simulations the systems partition function is mapped to an equivalent classical one at the expense of a temperature-dependent Hamiltonian with an additional imaginary time dimension. As a consequence the standard relation linking the heat capacity Cv to the energy fluctuations, <E2>−<E>2, which is useful in standard classical problems with temperature-independent Hamiltonian, becomes invalid.
