A predictive maintenance policy with imperfect monitoring

2010

For many systems, failure is a very dangerous or costly event. To reduce the occurrence of this event,it is necessary to implement a preventive maintenance policy to replace the critical elements before failure.Since elements do not often exhibit incipient faults, they are replaced before a complete exploiting of their useful life.To conjugate the objective of exploiting elements for almost all their useful life with the objective to avoid failure, condition based and, more recently, predictive maintenance policies have been proposed. This paper deals with this topic and proposes a procedure for the computation of the maintenance time that minimizes the global maintenance cost.By adopting a stoc…

Niedoceniony wymiar - aspekt dokonany/niedokonany w polskiej dydaktyce języka angielskiego

2016

A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language autorstwa R.Quirk’a, Greenbaum’a, Svartvik’a i Leech’a.

The value of perfect and imperfect information in lake monitoring and management.

2020

Highlights • Knowledge on the value of monitoring can assist decision-making in lake management. • We calculate value of perfect information theoretically. • We estimate value of imperfect information with Monte Carlo type of approach. • Generally, monitoring is profitable to invest in if VOI exceeds the cost. • Additional monitoring is profitable even if the lake is in good condition a priori. Uncertainty in the information obtained through monitoring complicates decision making about aquatic ecosystems management actions. We suggest the value of information (VOI) to assess the profitability of paying for additional monitoring information, when taking into account the costs and benefits of…

Parasitic microfungi on land plants in France : a commented list of presumably unpublished taxa.

2019

As part of an inventory of more than 800 parasitic Microfungi on land plants from the centre of France, 47 taxa reveal having no satisfactory correspondence with already described species in the usual textbooks devoted to this subject. As such, these seemingly yet unpublished taxa may constitute material of interest, for which critically commented descriptions are provided.

Toxigenic potential of Fusarium culmorum strains isolated from French wheat

2001

Sixty F. culmorum strains were isolated from wheat grains collected from different wheat-growing areas in France and from different cultivars. The isolates were grown on autoclaved wheat grain to assess their ability to produce trichothecenes and zearalenone. Fungal biomass was evaluated through the ergosterol grain content. All the isolates produced zearalenone (0.39-1660 mg kg(-1)). Thirty-five of the 60 F. culmorum produced nivalenol (0.11-11.7 mg kg(-1)), 12 of 60 produced fusarenone X (0.05-8.42 mg kg(-1)), five of 60 produced 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol (0.48-27.7 mg kg(-1)), 13 of 60 produced 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (0.07-21.0 mg kg(-1) and 24 of 60 produced deoxynivalenol (0.92-51.9 mg k…

Relationship between the Stages of Development of Fusarium moniliforme ATCC 38932 and Production of Fusarin C

2019

A study of the kinetics of fusarin C production by Fusarium moniliforme ATCC 38932, a known producer of fusarin C, was carried out. This strain was subcultured on an EG medium for an adequate sporulation, and a 4% inoculum was transferred to the 10% ICI N medium. The conditions for the production of fusarin C in this synthetic culture medium were optimized. The time-course study of fusarin C performed over 26 days with this strain showed three different developmental stages in which a maximum production of fusarin C was reached on the 8th day of incubation; thereafter this strain ceased growing exponentially and exhibited a sharp decrease of fusarin C from that moment on.

Interactions between glyphosate and autochthonous soil fungi surviving in aqueous solution of glyphosate

2007

The survival of autochthonous fungi in soil treated with 1mM aqueous solution of glyphosate was investigated. Significant differences in the total number of fungi in the studied objects were observed, and additionally significant qualitative changes were encountered. The dominating group of fungi belonged to genus Fusarium: Fusarium solani H30, Fusarium solani H50 and Fusarium oxysporum H80. Interactions between the isolated strains of fungi and varying concentrations of glyphosate were determined. The studied strains possessed high tolerance against the applied doses of glyphosate (0.5-2.0 mM). In the presence of glyphosate (as a sole source of phosphorus) applied in concentrations of 1.0-…

Genetic Diversity of Pathogenic and Nonpathogenic Populations of Fusarium oxysporum Isolated from Carnation Fields in Argentina.

2004

In order to elucidate the origin of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi in Argentina, the genetic diversity among pathogenic isolates together with co-occurring nonpathogenic isolates on carnation was investigated. In all, 151 isolates of F. oxysporum were obtained from soils and carnation plants from several horticultural farms in Argentina. The isolates were characterized using vegetative compatibility group (VCG), intergenic spacer (IGS) typing, and pathogenicity tests on carnation. Seven reference strains of F. oxysporum f. sp. dianthi also were analyzed and assigned to six different IGS types and six VCGs. Twenty-two Argentinean isolates were pathogenic on carnation, had the same IGS typ…

Influence of the Interactions among Ecological Variables in the Characterization of Zearalenone Producing Isolates of Fusarium spp.

2004

To carry out the physiological characterization of Fusarium graminearum and F. culmorum isolates with regard to its zearalenone producing ability, an in-depth experiment with a full factorial design was conducted. The effects and mutual interactions of temperature, moisture, substrate and isolate on the production of the toxin were studied. The study was done with twelve isolates of Fusarium (7 of F. graminearum and 5 of F. culmorum). The analysis of variance shows that there is a complex interaction of all of these factors, which can influence the relative concentrations of the mycotoxin produced, and hence, the correct physiological characterization of the strain. All the tested cultures …

Isolation and purification of enniatins A, A1, B, B1, produced by Fusarium tricinctum in solid culture, and cytotoxicity effects on Caco-2 cells

2010

Enniatins (ENs) are antibiotic compounds of hexadepsipeptidic structure produced by several strains of Fusarium spp. The ENs A, A(1), B, B-1 were purified from extracts of Fusarium tricinctum grown on a solid medium of corn, by a low pressure liquid chromatography (LPLC) on reverse phase of Amberlite XAD-7 followed by semipreparative LC. The purity and the structure of the isolated compounds were confirmed by LC-MS/MS. The technique of the purification of the fungal extract enabled complete separation of the ENs A, A(1), B, B-1 with a mean purity of 97% for all the compounds. The cytoxicity of the ENs was tested in the cell lines of human origin (epithelial colorectal adenocarcinoma cells, …
