The migration–tourism nexus in the EU28

This study explores the nexus between tourism and migration on an intra-European scale over the period 2000–2015. Complex-network analysis and gravity models were the investigation methods preferred. For each year under study, we built two country-to-country networks to map and reveal the connections between states as shaped by migration stocks and tourism flows, respectively. Then, the main determinants of the correlation patterns between the two networks were investigated by several econometric analysis. Investment Modelling at the Euro Area Level

The aim of this research is to model the investment function at the level of the Euro zone. To achieve this main objective, we use and implement the structural equation modeling procedure for empirical analysis. Using this technique, the causal relationships established between investment and influencing factors are estimated and tested. Also, in the process of modeling structural equations, we examine empirical data sets related to the Euro area’s Member States.

Przedmiotem artykułu jest zastosowanie odpowiedzialności z tytułu zdarzeń medycznych oraz formalne wszczęcie odpowiedniego postępowania w tym zakresie. Autor zwraca szczególną uwagę na te kwestie, które powodują istotne problemy interpretacyjne, a także wymagają komentarza co do poprawności i słuszności rozwiązań przyjętych przez ustawodawcę. Omawia pojęcie „zdarzenia medycznego”, krąg podmiotów uprawnionych do wszczęcia postępowania w przedmiocie odpowiedzialności za zdarzenia medyczne oraz kwestie dotyczące złożenia wniosku do właściwej komisji i opisania jego wymogów formalnych.

Prevalence of visual impairment and refractive errors in an urban area of Mexico

AIM: To determine the distribution of refractive errors in a school-age population in Quintana Roo (Mexico) in the framework of an international cooperation campaign for the prevention of blindness. METHODS: A sample of 2647 school-age children (ranging from 5 to 14 years old) with a mean age of 9.1±1.9 years old were tested by trained volunteers for distance visual acuity (VA) and refractive errors. The first screening examination included uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) and VA with a +2.00 D lens. Inclusion criteria for a second complete cycloplegic eye examination performed by an optometrist were UDVA <20/25 (0.10 logMAR or 0.8 decimal) and/or VA with +2.00 D ≥20/25. RESULTS: A…
