Food insecurity with hunger and sexual behavior among adolescents from 53 countries

Objectives: To examine the relationship of food insecurity with sexual intercourse, multiple sexual partners and non-condom use. Methods: Data on food insecurity (hunger) and sexual behaviors from 205,296 adolescents from 53 countries. Associations were analyzed using meta-analysis. Results: Overall, 16.0% of the adolescents ever had sexual intercourse and the prevalence of moderate and severe food insecurity was 44.9% and 6.2%, respectively. Moderate and severe food insecurity was associated with higher odds for sexual intercourse. Any food insecurity was significantly associated with condom nonuse at last sex. Based on the gender model and the life context model, the financial and domestic responsibilities and expectations associated with getting a new assignment are tested as potential gender specific moderators of the link between job insecurity and commitment, performance, and depressive moods. In a cross-sectional international questionnaire study of 1981 temporary workers’ three-way interactions between job insecurity, gender, and the moderators were tested. The aim of this chapter is to examine how the uncertainty and instability of working life is reflected in Finnish polytechnic graduates’ employment. The present study investigates the fields of business and engineering by comparing two graduate cohorts. The societal context in which new graduates enter working life is that of an increasing precariousness in the labour market, which affects higher education graduates as well as the general population. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot saistības starp izdegšanu, darba nedrošības izjūtu, uztverto organizācijas atbalstu un amata pārslodzi māsu profesijā. Muistisairaan ihmisen kokemukset teknologiasta osana arkea - turvaa vai tunkeilevuutta

Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin muistisairaiden ihmisten arkea tukevan teknologian käyttöönottoa ja heidän sekä heidän läheistensä kokemuksia teknologian käytöstä. Tutkimuksen viitekehyksenä toimi Lawtonin ekologinen malli. Tutkimuksessa käytettiin etnografista näkökulmaa haastattelemalla ja havainnoimalla muistisairaita ihmisiä teknologian käyttötilanteissa. Ensimmäinen vaihe toteutettiin vuosina 2004-2007. La mostra és representativa de l'univers estudiat -els joves valencians dels dos darrers cursos de l'ensenyament obligatori- i està formada pet 2190 estudiants entre 14 i 16 anys de 31 centres d'educació secundària de les localitats del País Valencià on es parla la llengua catalana. La ILF és un índex de la percepció que tenen els parlants de la distància que hi ha entre els seus usos lingüístics i les formes lingüístiques més prestigioses. AbstractIn this study, we examined whether maternal perceived job insecurity (JI) affected depressive symptoms in their adolescent children. Specifically, we tested a mediator-moderator model in which we hypothesized that maternal JI was related to adolescent depressive symptoms indirectly via maternal depressive symptoms. Most importantly, we also explored whether this indirect path was moderated by two buffering resources, i.e., maternal off-job recovery and adolescent self-esteem.
