Assessment of Physical and Chemical Stability of Different Magnesium Compounds in Tablets
2020
Modern lifestyle, excessive chemicalization of agricultural products, excessive processing and refining of food, cause a decrease in daily intake of magnesium, cation with an extremely important role in prevention and treatment of many diseases. As a result, there arises the need for extra magnesium intake in the form of dietary supplements. In this study were evaluated the physical and chemical stability of magnesium-containing tablets, depending on the active compound and the excipients used. Magnesium tablets in the form of orotate, lactate, citrate, oxide and hydroxide were taken into study and physical and chemical stability were observed over the validity period, at 6 and at 12 month…
Worldwide trends in blood pressure from 1975 to 2015: a pooled analysis of 1479 population-based measurement studies with 19.1 million participants
2017
Background Raised blood pressure is an important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and chronic kidney disease. We estimated worldwide trends in mean systolic and mean diastolic blood pressure, and the prevalence of, and number of people with, raised blood pressure, defined as systolic blood pressure of 140 mm Hg or higher or diastolic blood pressure of 90 mm Hg or higher. Methods For this analysis, we pooled national, subnational, or community population-based studies that had measured blood pressure in adults aged 18 years and older. We used a Bayesian hierarchical model to estimate trends from 1975 to 2015 in mean systolic and mean diastolic blood pressure, and the prevalence of rai…
Maataloustuotemarkkinoiden sijoittajakäyttäytymisen muutoksen vaikutus USA:n maataloustuote- ja osakemarkkinoiden korreloituneisuuteen
2017
Tässä tutkimuksessa perehdytään siihen, kuinka maataloustuotemarkkinoiden sijoittajakäyttäytymisen muutos vaikuttaa osake- ja maataloustuotemarkkinoiden väliseen korrelaatioon. Tutkittava aineisto koostuu maissin, vehnän, soijapavun, sokerin ja kaakaon päivittäisistä futuurihinnoista vuosilta 1973–2016. Tutkimuksessa osakemarkkinoita kuvaa S&P 500 -indeksi ja raaka-ainemarkkinoita S&P GSCI -indeksi. Aluksi arvioidaan muuttujien keskinäisiä riippuvuussuhteita VAR-mallin avulla.
The reactivity of neonatal rabbits to the mammary pheromone as a probe for viability
2012
International audience; Newborn rabbits depend on a daily nursing interaction with the mother to gain milk and to survive. During this interaction, they localise and seize the nipples displaying a typical behaviour triggered by maternal odour cues. The mammary pheromone constitutes such a signal in domestic rabbits: it elicits sucking-related movements in more than 90% of the pups. However, some newborns remain unresponsive to the presentation of the pheromone, even pups apparently healthy and highly motivated to suck. The main goal of the present study was therefore to explore the link between the unresponsiveness of rabbit pups to the mammary pheromone and their growth and survival in bre…

Työn ja perheen yhteensovittamisen hallintakeinojen yhteys työn ja perheen väliseen ristiriitaan, rikastavuuteen ja psyykkiseen oireiluun
2014
Tässä Pro-gradu tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin, onko Palvelualojen ammattiliiton (PAM, n = 821) ja Sosiaali- ja terveysalan ammattijärjestön (Tehy, n = 1402) jäsenistöstä koostuvissa aineistoista löydettävissä erilaisia työn ja perheen yhteensovittamisen hallintakeinojen käytön profiileja. Lisäksi tutkimme, miten nämä profiilit eroavat toisistaan työn ja perheen välisen ristiriidan, työn ja perheen välisen rikastavuuden sekä psyykkisen oireilun suhteen. Työn ja perheen yhteensovittamisen hallintakeinojen profiileja etsittiin molemmissa aineistoissa klusterianalyysillä. Varianssianalyysillä selvitettiin, eroavatko profiilit toisistaan työn ja perheen välisen ristiriidan ja rikastavuuden kokemuks…
The effectiveness of personalized design to feed elderly people
2015
Beyond the physiological age, the elderly population is characterized by a high heterogeneity in terms of physical, psychological and sociological status (Maître et al, 2015). Regarding eating behavior, several studies have highlighted a large inter-individual variability in chemosensory abilities (i.e. the ability to perceive an odor or a taste; Sulmont-Rossé et al, 2015) and oral-heath status (i.e. dental status, salivary flow; ALIMASSENS project), as well as inter-individual variability in food preference and food intake (AUPALESENS project). However, the food offer dedicated to the elderly population, and in particular to elderly people who needs help to obtain and/or prepare food for t…
A methodological look at the controversy about the influence of salt intake on cardiovascular risk
2012
Cardiovascular diseases are a major cause of premature death and disability. They represent an extraordinarily strong financial burden upon health-care systems in ‘‘developed’’ countries. Elevated blood pressure is a major cause of cardiovascular disease. There is much evidence that cardiovascular risk increases from normal blood pressure (i.e., from 115/75 mmHg upwards) [1]. Overwhelming evidence shows that reducing salt intake from 9–12 g/day to 5–6 g/day lowers blood pressure [2]. Blood pressure is a surrogate endpoint, but may be related to a reduction of morbidity and mortality due to cardiovascular causes. Thus, intensive support and encouragement to cut down on the intake of salt in …
Understanding family dynasty: Nurturing the corporate identity across generations
