The use of ICT in established and emerging tourist destinations: a comparative analysis in hotels

2013

Purpose – Information and communication technologies (ICT) may represent an important source of advantages for service companies. However, the literature suggests that ICT need to be adapted to the demands of the company and its customers. The purpose of this paper is to compare the ICT use in hotels situated in established (i.e. Spain) and emerging (i.e. Croatia) tourist destinations. The European sTANDEM project for certification in medical English: standards, acceptability and transgression(s)

2014

In the global world of international communication, employers or institutions that wish to determine the language skills of non-native speakers of English usually turn to generalist proficiency tests such as the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the slightly more business-oriented TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication). These tests enable test takers to certify that they have reached a certain level in skills needed in everyday life and, sometimes, workplace situations, but they do not assess language skills for specific purposes.Aware of this vacuum, a consortium of European teachers/researchers and international experts in the domain of medical English unde…

Sezione monografica. La cooperazione internazionale allo sviluppo. Costruire sull’esperienza

2018

Teologiczny dialog rzymskokatolicko-prawosławny: stan i perspektywy

2018

Roman Catholic-Orthodox dialogue, due to the doctrinal similitude of both ecclesial traditions, raises the greatest hopes as to unification in faith and in church teachings. Over nearly four hundred years of work by the Joint Commission for the theological dialogue between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church on the global scene, it has born much good fruit. For the dialogue to be initiated, the Churches had to pass through enormous transformation, both mental and spiritual. The point was for them to rediscover each other as sisterly Churches. Establishing Joint Commission for the theological dialogue between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church (November 30,1979) …

Schooling pupils with disabilities in Franceand Cameroon: a comparative analysis

2016

International audience; he right to education and academic success of all are the concerns of all time regardless of the contexts (UNESCO, 2008). Unfortunately, despite the solemn affirmations and commitments to education for all and inclusive education, the question of the effectiveness of including all-out pupils with disabilities remains a relatively unexplored topic. Inclusive education implies a paradigm shift in which the conditions for success are based on the ability of the school to adapt to the diversity of the public it hosts (Plaisance, Belmont, Verillon et al., 2007; Dyson, Millward et al., 1999). Some researchers (Armstrong, 2001; Ainscow, 2003) showed that if educational poli…

Entrepreneur education and training are the key concepts for the success and wel-fare of the European societies. This study focuses on the online learning program of Global Entrepreneurship developed with the support of family busi-ness entrepreneurs as mentors. Spain and the international scientific conferences on polio, 1940s-1960s

2010

The development of international health from a historical point of view has undergone major advances in recent times and constitutes a substantial part of the current agenda for historians of medicine. Within this framework, and focussing on a specific case study (international responses to poliomyelitis outbreaks in the 20th century), we explore the main actions and achievements of agencies such as the WHO and other private and international scientific organizations. Furthermore, this paper seeks to identify the Spanish presence and absence in these activities, their causes and consequences.
