Experimental introgression in Drosophila : Asymmetric postzygotic isolation associated with chromosomal inversions and an incompatibility locus on th…
2022
Interspecific gene flow (introgression) is an important source of new genetic variation, but selection against it can reinforce reproductive barriers between interbreeding species. We used an experimental approach to trace the role of chromosomal inversions and incompatibility genes in preventing introgression between two partly sympatric Drosophila virilis group species, D. flavomontana and D. montana. We backcrossed F1 hybrid females from a cross between D. flavomontana female and D. montana male with the males of the parental species for two generations and sequenced pools of parental strains and their reciprocal 2nd generation backcross (BC2mon and BC2fla) females. Contrasting the obser…
El arbitraje celebrado ante el CIADI.
2014
El presente artículo analiza la institución arbitral del CIADI desde un punto de vista estructural. Así, se estudia su origen, función, composición y jurisdicción, haciendo hincapié en las características y el procedimiento arbitral que en dicha institución tiene lugar. This paper analyzes the CIADI arbitral institution from a structural point of view. Thus, we study their origin, function, composition and jurisdiction, emphasizing the characteristics and the arbitral procedure that in this institution it takes place.
Adaptation and ecological speciation in seasonally varying environments at high latitudes: Drosophila virilis group
2022
Living in high latitudes and altitudes sets specific requirements on species’ ability to forecast seasonal changes and to respond to them in an appropriate way. Adaptation into diverse environmental conditions can also lead to ecological speciation through habitat isolation or by inducing changes in traits that influence assortative mating. In this review, we explain how the unique time-measuring systems of Drosophila virilis group species have enabled the species to occupy high latitudes and how the traits involved in species reproduction and survival exhibit strong linkage with latitudinally varying photoperiodic and climatic conditions. We also describe variation in reproductive barriers…
The investment portfolios manager is obliged to inform customers of the acquisition of securities and their subsequent evolution. The manager also must acquire values that are consistent with the risk that the client wishes to take, and not above that level of risk.
Etudes d'objets combinatoires : applications à la bio-informatique
2011
This thesis considers classes of combinatorial objects that model data in bioinformatics. We have studied two methods of mutation of genes within the genome : duplication and inversion. At first,we study the problem of the whole mirror duplication-random lossmodel in terms of pattern avoiding permutations. We prove that the class of permutations obtained with this method after p duplications from the identity is the class of permutations avoiding alternating permutations of length 2p + 1.We also enumerate the number of duplications that are necessary and sufficient to obtain any permutation of length n from the identity. We also suggest two efficient algorithms to reconstruct two different …
La Propuesta de Reglamento estableciendo un marco para la evaluación de las inversiones extranjeras directas en la Unión Europea de septiembre de 2017
2018
Foreign investment flows have increased steadily in the last decades, although the financial crisis and the role played by certain emerging economies, mainly PRC, are negatively influencing them. A change of trend is not ascertainable yet, but some backlash against foreign direct investment exists in particular countries. The development of mechanisms of control of foreign investment shows this change of attitude. The situation is especially relevant in the European Union because of the embryonic condition of the Common Investment Policy. The publication of the Proposal for a Regulation establishing a framework for screening of foreign direct investments into the European Union reflects the…
