El estilo de Juana Manso fue calificado por Sarmiento como «escandaloso». Esa manera inequívoca de presentarse públicamente delimitó desde entonces un modo de existencia, de circulación y de funcionamiento de su figura autorial en el campo cultural argentino de mediados de siglo XIX. En el presente trabajo se analizan tanto el desmoronamiento del sentido como la búsqueda subsiguiente de este en relación con el protagonista de la obra teatral de la dramaturga alemana Dea Loher, Adam Geist (1998). Al desmoronarse el sentido, la realidad del protagonista deviene indeterminable y polisémica. El personaje adopta una variedad de identidades para contraponerse a esta nueva realidad. La lógica espacio-temporal se destruye y, a causa de ello, se genera una expansión espacial y una compresión temporal a las que debe adaptarse el protagonista.

Translating Italy.Notes on Irish Poets Reading Italian Poetry During the last few years, literary translation has become a relevant part of some Irish writers’ activity. Such poets as Seamus Heaney, Derek Mahon, Paul Muldoon, Eamon Grennan, Desmond O’Grady, among others, sometimes seemed to have been more concerned about translating than about writing. Translation has offered itself as an occasion for literary experimentation, rewriting as well as for learning and discussing about other worlds. A sociocultural perspective – entailing the notion of ‘cultural identity’ – has here been applied to a linguistic analysis of such texts in translation

This article offers a short analysis of the different meanings and connotations of the three names given in 1525 by Toledo's Holy Office to the new Cas lian here cs-the « alumbrados », also called « dexados » and « perfects ». In order to be exhaustive, this taxinomic study of Castilian illuminism adds the name « recogidos » to this list, since those spirituals are often mentioned in the testimonies included in the trials. This paper presents a behavioral analysis of the doxastic form creo (que) as a subjectification modal verb, specifically in its manifestation as a pragmatic intensifier device in a Spanish parliamentary debate. Previous work on creo (que) has suggested that it is indeed an intensifier (Fuentes 2010, Brenes 2015, Cuenca 2015), although many pragmatic approaches to these doxastic verbal forms, not only in the context of Spanish (Hennemann 2012; Albelda, Briz, Cestero, Kotwica y Villalba 2014) but also from other languages (Lakoff 1972; Hooper 1975; Lysvag 1975; Fraser 1975, 1980; Holmes 1984; Caffi 1999, 2004), have classified creo (que) as a marker of attenuation.
