High-Frequency Experimental Characterization and Modeling of Six Pack IGBTs Power Modules

In this paper, a method to characterize the high-frequency (HF) behavior of six pack insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) power module (PM) is presented. The method is based on experimental measurements at the external pins of the device and it allows one to extract internal inductive and capacitive parasitic coupling without the knowledge of structural and physical parameters of the PM. The HF model of a six pack IGBTs PM has been developed, in the frequency range of 150 kHz-30 MHz, and it has been implemented in MATLAB environment. Mast cells enhance proliferation of B lymphocytes and drive their differentiation toward IgA-secreting plasma cells.

AbstractThe evidence of a tight spatial interaction between mast cells (MCs) and B lymphocytes in secondary lymphoid organs, along with the data regarding the abundance of MCs in several B-cell lymphoproliferative disorders prompted us to investigate whether MCs could affect the proliferation and differentiation of B cells. To this aim, we performed coculture assays using mouse splenic B cells and bone marrow–derived MCs. Both nonsensitized and activated MCs proved able to induce a significant inhibition of cell death and an increase in proliferation of naive B cells. Summary Toll-like receptors (TLR) play a central role in the initiation of the innate immune response to pathogens. Upon recognition of molecular motifs specific for microbial molecules TLR mediate pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion and enhance antigen presentation; in B cells they further promote expansion, class switch recombination and immunoglobulin secretion. As a result of their adjuvant properties, TLR ligands have become an integral component of antimicrobial vaccines. Effect of platform switching on the peri-implant bone: A finite element study

Background: There exists a relation between the presence and location of the micro-gap and the loss of peri-implant bone. Several authors have shown that the treatments based on the use of platform switching result in less peri-implant bone loss and an increased tissue stability. The purpose of this study was to analyse the effect of the platform switching on the distribution of stresses on the peri-implant bone using the finite element method. Dissensus, death and division

2009

The modeling of switching systems describing networks where death and duplication processes occur is described. A dissensus protocol, complementary to consensus protocol, is introduced and the convergence or divergence of the agents' state evolution is studied. We discuss some properties of the topology reached by the network when different rules of duplication and inheritance are implemented.

An AC-assisted single-nanowire electromechanical switch

A unique two-source controlled nanoelectromechanical switch has been assembled from individual, single-clamped Ge nanowires. The switching behaviour was achieved by superimposing the control signals of specific frequencies to the electrostatic potential of the output terminals, eliminating the need for an additional gate electrode. Using an in situ manipulation technique inside a scanning electron microscope, we demonstrate that the pull-out force required to overcome adhesion at the contact can be significantly reduced by exciting mechanical resonant modes within the nanowire.

Delay-dependent exponential stabilization of positive 2D switched state-delayed systems in the Roesser model

This paper deals with the controller synthesis for a class of positive two-dimensional (2D) switched delay systems described by the Roesser model. This kind of systems has the property that the states take nonnegative values whenever the initial boundaries are nonnegative, some delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the exponential stability of positive 2D switched systems with state delays are given. Input-Output Finite-Time Stability of Discrete-Time Impulsive Switched Linear Systems with State Delays

Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s00034-013-9610-7 This paper is concerned with the problem of input-output finite-time stability (IO-FTS) for discrete impulsive switched systems with state delays. Sufficient conditions are presented for the existence of IO-FTS for such systems under the cases of certain switching, arbitrary switching, and uncertain switching. All the obtained results are formulated in a set of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Two numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Phenotypic Heterogeneity of the Insect Pathogen Photorhabdus luminescens: Insights into the Fate of Secondary Cells

Photorhabdus luminescens is a Gram-negative bacterium that lives in symbiosis with soil nematodes and is simultaneously highly pathogenic toward insects. The bacteria exist in two phenotypically different forms, designated primary (1°) and secondary (2°) cells. Yet unknown environmental stimuli as well as global stress conditions induce phenotypic switching of up to 50% of 1° cells to 2° cells.
